The revelation given to the Apostle John contains a lot of events and items which may be metaphoric, based in the time period it was written. We can create many theories, but much of the contents may not be correctly interpreted without divine inspiration from the Holy Spirit or until they come to pass. For this reason, we must learn to agree to disagree on some things.
Our salvation doesn't depend upon correctly interpreting the information given in Revelation. This is food for thought and consideration.
For I testify to every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19 AKJV)
