VIDEO: Abba is Waiting Meeting
When things go wrong in my life, I immediately seek the Lord to see if it is a trial or a test, or if I have gone wrong somewhere and left myself open to an attack from the enemy. This is what the Bible tells us to do:
In You, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in Your righteousness. (Psalm 31:1 AKJV)
The Hebrew word chacah (khä·säw) is translated as “put my trust,” but according to “Strong’s Concordance” it means to trust, put hope upon, and seek refuge. The Lord wants us to run to Him when things go wrong in order to be delivered from what is attacking us. It shouldn’t matter if it is the flu that is going around, an accident, or something bigger. We can seek Jesus and ask why it is happening.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 AKJV)
This is a psalm or song of David that he would sing. Through this, we can see that focusing on the Lord for His strength and protection was how David was able to walk into the amazing destiny God had for him. We need to do as David did.
For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock, and now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me… (Psalm 27:5-6 AMPC)
When we seek the Lord, He will bring us to His shelter, the Secret Place. In Biblical times when you were “high upon a rock,” you had an advantage over your enemies: you had gravity on your side as you swung down to strike your enemies with your sword, and your arrows would fly further. In order to hit you, your enemies had to fight against gravity.
After being under assault by the enemy for many days, I finally took the time to really seek the Lord. In my first, short visit to the Secret Place, God in the fatherly form of Abba showed me I had been “chewing” on the wrong thing. Though I knew what the general issue was, the symptoms persisted even though the pain had greatly lessened.
A couple of days later, I once again sought the Lord. He asked me to share this encounter with you:
It was hard to set aside all my desires and needs, so I put on my favorite worship music to help me focus on Him. When I let go of everything I wanted, truly desiring to only be with Him, the vision began:
The Lord appeared and we danced. I immediately tested the vision by asking, “Do you confess that Jesus has come in the flesh?”
He dropped down on one knee, taking my hand in His like He was proposing marriage, “I do so confess because I did…” a somberness came over Him as He stated, “And I am returning sooner than many know.”
Jesus held me in His arms, letting me rest in the presence of His love. Eventually, I asked, “Lord, why am I still suffering? My jaw still hurts, I’ve done everything I could think of and it is only a little better.”
He brought me over to a bench where we sat next to each other. He asked, “What do you see?”
Looking out at the vision before me I said, “There is a stream that is close to trees and mountains in the distance, but the vision is really vague, almost fuzzy.”
The Lord spit on His fingers then rubbed them on my closed eyes. When I opened them the vision was bright and crystal clear with vivid colors. “Oooh!” I exclaimed, “I can see so much more.” There were birds and butterflies playing in the meadow before us. We were in a gazebo sitting on a bench. I could now see that we were in the Secret Place where I had visited with Abba. He was walking in the meadow, in the form of a white-haired, bearded man around his mid-thirties.
“Abba is there, waiting for you,” Jesus explained, “He is always there, eager to see you.”
Like other times in the Secret Place, the words conveyed so much more than what was said. I KNEW that a piece of Almighty God inhabited the Secret Place where He waited, not just for me, but He eagerly waited for all of His children to visit with Him.
While in the Secret Place, you cannot really control what you do. Whatever you feel, whatever you are thinking, it just happens. The “you” in the Secret Place, just does it.
The Lord had just given me a wonderful gift of seeing clearly, and a revelation that warmed my heart. Instead of being overjoyed with this as I should have been, I said, “Thank you Lord for showing me these things, it is really great, but you haven’t answered my question. I need to know why I am suffering. Abba said that I was ‘chewing on things that I shouldn’t.’ What does that mean?”
Yes, speaking to the Creator of all that we know, I was being pushy, persistent, determined to get what I wanted like a spoiled child. He pointed at the area in front of us and said, “You have taken your focus off of the Secret Place where I told you to be. Because of this, you have walked out of the shadow of the Almighty where the enemy waits to pounce upon you.”
I bowed my head, knowing the truth of His words. Time and time again He had asked me to spend time focusing on Him, practicing entering into the Secret Place each day. I still had not done that.
Jesus continued, “Don’t listen to messages of other leaders. Each part of My body has a job; focus on yours. I will handle them. It is not yet your time for that. Leave them to Me right now. Don’t take your focus from the Secret Place. You need to practice entering My presence, entering into the Secret Place, until it is as easy as breathing. This will help you guide others and help them come here.”
There was more that He said that doesn’t apply here. This is the part that the Lord wanted me to speak to you about. The Secret Place isn’t just for leaders. It is the place God has for His children to visit with Him.
Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the LORD. Do I not fill Heaven and Earth? declares the LORD. (Jeremiah 23:24 ESV)
God is omnipresent, He is everywhere and in every moment in time. He is waiting for you, longing to show Himself as Abba.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6 AKJV)
For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (Romans 8:15 AKJV)
The word “Abba” means Pappa, Daddy, or any name you would use as a small child reaching out for your father. When God is on His throne we see His power and might: As one man saw, a move of His pinky finger sent an angel the size of a 747 (commercial aircraft) careening across the enormous cavern crashing into a wall. In the Secret Place, He reveals His heart and Himself as Abba, our loving Father.
The Lord has made it clear that there are different parts of the Body of Christ with different jobs. Last year He told us that we were training for the Courts because we may need to know about the Courts so that they can be freed to enter the Secret Place. This year my immediate job is focusing on Him and learning more about entering the Secret Place. The next time I visited with Him in my prayer time, He made it clear that I am to share this with you. He wants you to know that Abba is waiting for you.
Will you set aside the time to seek Him? The Lord is the way. Don’t look for the Secret Place but look for Him and He will bring you there.

Our Heavenly Father enjoys hearing from you. Spend time telling God how you feel about Him as Father:
- Do you need to understand Him as Abba more?
- Are you willing to be a small child on His lap?
