The Great Tribulation from Jesus’ Point of View

The Revelation of John contains a lot of events and items which may be metaphoric, based in the time period it was written. We can create many theories, but much of the contents may not be correctly interpreted until they come to pass. For this reason, we must learn to agree to disagree on some things.

Our salvation doesn't depend upon correctly interpreting the information given in Revelation. This is food for thought and consideration.

For I testify to every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book:

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19 AKJV)

We must be careful not to add things to these revelations and not to mitigate what this book is saying. It is a fine line to walk as we look into this prophecy about our Lord's return.

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3 ESV)

In a private conversation, the disciples of Jesus asked Him about when He would come back to rule and reign. Since we are grafted into Abraham’s family and Christians are disciples of Jesus, His answer applies to us. The next several verses of Matthew 24 describe events that have been occurring since our Lord left:

...many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. (V5 ESV)

you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. (V6 ESV)

for nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places (V7 AKJV)

The Lord assured His followers that, “All these are the beginning of the birth pains” in verse eight. These signs are not something to worry about, they have happened and are happening now. Jesus gives us a sure sign that He is “right at the door:”

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.” (Matthew 24:9 ESV)

The Greek word thlipsis is translated “tribulation” in the ESV and “affliction” in the King James version. The more complete meaning is “pressure (literally or figuratively): afflicted (-tion), anguish, burdened, persecution, tribulation, trouble.” This will be a time when saying that you are a Christian may be difficult for many people. What Jesus described, is occurring in today’s society:

Many will be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. (V10 AKJV)

As Christians, we should be known by our love of one another (John 13:35)

Many of God’s people act harshly towards people of other denominations. This will increase once the seven year agreement is signed and increase once more when the AntiChrist declares himself to be god.

Many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (V11 AKJV)

How many have given prophecies that have not come true in recent years?

How many “prophecies” are not backed up with the word of God?

Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (V12 AKJV)

Living together before marriage, abortion, homosexuality, and so much more is now seen as “normal.” If you don’t agree to these allowances you are seen as “intolerant.”

Iniquity is sin. Churches are under pressure to accept sin and to tolerate what the Bible says is sin, or have their non-profit status removed. (V13 AKJV)

People are attached to their sin. They are choosing sin over following God’s ways. This causes our heart to be hardened and grow cold. Eventually many will fall away from God altogether. In the next verse, Jesus urges us to hold onto our love of God, because something is about to occur.

“So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand)... (Matthew 24:15 ESV)

All of those who are disciples of Jesus (Christians) will see this event happen. To find out when this will take place, we must look to what Daniel said:

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured on the desolate. (Daniel 9:27 AKJV)

There will be a covenant for a week and we shall see the abomination that makes desolate in the middle of a week. What does this mean? To understand this, it will take some very thorough investigation of what is commonly known as “Daniel’s Week” or the “Tribulation Week.”

70 Weeks

The prophet Daniel was interceding for God’s people when the angel Gabriel appeared to him to reveal a great mystery from God.

Seventy weeks [of years, or 490 years] are decreed upon your people and upon your Holy City [Jerusalem]... (Daniel 9:24 AMPC)

This is a prophecy concerning Israel and the temple, therefore, if the Jewish people do not have a temple, we do not count that time in the seventy weeks. The Hebrew word šāḇûaʿ (shaw-voo'-ah) translated weeks also has a meaning of heptad, or a set of seven, in this case, years.

Weeks = 7 years

   70 weeks

x   7 years

   ________

490 years

We also know that the seventy (70) weeks are actually years because we can trace through history what occurred and how long it took.

Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until [the coming of] the Anointed One, a Prince, shall be seven weeks [of years] and sixty-two weeks [of years]; the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. (Daniel 9:25 AMPC)

The reconstruction of the Jerusalem temple was begun by Herod the Great, king of Judea, in about 18-20 BC. By the time of Jesus’ ministry the temple complex had been under construction for forty-six (46) years. John points out this fact to confirm that Jesus is the Messiah ( John 2:20). At that time our Lord had been in ministry for three years. At the end of Jesus’ ministry, right before He went to the cross, He entered the temple and there was no one there to greet Him as the Messiah. This makes a total of forty-nine (49) years or seven (7) weeks of years confirming through the prophecy of Daniel, that Jesus is the Messiah.

Weeks = 7 years

   7 weeks

x 7

  ____________

49 years until Jesus entered the temple as the Messiah

Most scholars believe that you should add this seven weeks of years period to the sixty-two weeks to make sixty-nine (69) weeks of years that have passed since the coming of the Lord.

7 weeks of years until the Messiah

+ 62 weeks of years Jerusalem and street under construction

   _________________

69 weeks of years have occurred at the time of the cross?

I never thought to disagree until the Lord asked me to look at what He said so that we can look at the coming tribulation according to His point of view.

The first thought I had was, why didn’t it just say sixty-nine weeks? Why did it have seven weeks and then sixty-two weeks? There is a Hebrew word for nine after all. I began looking at the actual words in Hebrew. The word šiššîm (shish-sheem') which means sixty was present but the Hebrew letters for a conjunctive connection such as “and” was not in the text. This means the word “and” is added by the translator. There is no punctuation in ancient Hebrew writings, so this could easily read:

Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks. Threescore and two weeks: (Daniel 9:25)

The seven weeks shows us how to identify the Messiah, period, end of sentence. The threescore and two (62) weeks should not be added to it; it is speaking about the possession of Jerusalem by Israel, and the rebuilding process of the entire city; the temple construction is included within this number. In other words, Jerusalem, its walls and streets were under construction for sixty-two weeks and construction on the temple was ordered for the last seven weeks of years or forty-nine years before the arrival of the Messiah.

Proof to support this calculation and the fact that the seven (7) weeks and sixty-two (62) weeks should not be added together can be found in the very next verse.

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and to the end of the war desolations are determined. (Daniel 9:26 AKJV)

Being “cut off” is when Jesus was crucified: He was alone and unsupported. This clearly states that only sixty-two (62) weeks occurs before the death of Jesus, not sixty-nine. If we were adding the seven (7) weeks to the sixty-two (62) it would have said sixty-nine (69) weeks had passed at the death of Jesus. This is a very important distinction in God’s timeline.

We have 8 weeks of years or fifty-six (56) years left after Jesus died. The temple and Jerusalem were in the hands of God’s people until approximately 70 AD. Jesus died in 33 AD. This means that thirty-seven (37) years out of the fifty-six (56) remaining years has occurred, leaving nineteen years in God’s timeline of seventy (70) weeks of years for the following to occur.

7 weeks = 7 years

70 weeks (for Israel)       8 weeks         56 years

-  62 weeks (passed at the crucifixion)       x 7 years -   37 years

    ___________     ____________ _____________

8 weeks remaining 56 years remaining          19 years left

Seventy weeks are determined on your people and on your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. (Daniel 9:24 AKJV)

This gives a great list of all the different activities which need to occur before the final day of judgement:

  • To complete the transgression
    • There is a certain amount of offense against God which occurs before His wrath is poured out
    • There is a “cup of wrath” that, once full, God will pour out upon man (Jeremiah 25:15-16; Isaiah 51:17, 22; Ezekiel 23:28-34; Revelation 14:9-10)
  • To make an end of sin, to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness
    • Jesus paid for all of these on the cross;
    • Through Him we can turn and stop sinning
    • We are reconciled through the blood when we confess our sins
    • We receive our eternal righteousness with God when we take Him as Lord
  • To seal up vision and prophecy
    • Hāzôn (khaw-zone) is translated vision also as title of book of prophecy
  • To seal up means that it will be locked in at that point
    • At the end of seventy years, fate is sealed for those who remain

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Revelation 20:12 AKJV)

This is what happens at the end of seventy weeks of years. Judgement is sealed. Our eternal fate is set in stone. We have nineteen years left in God’s timetable. Where does Daniel’s week come into play?

The Final 19 Years and Daniel’s Week

The very next event mentioned by the angel Gabriel is the week of years:

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate... (Daniel 9:27 AKJV)

The seven-year agreement takes care of all but twelve of the nineteen years. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that at the end of this seven-year peace treaty that the Lord immediately returns. The great abomination takes place in the middle of that week. The words of our Lord confirm that there is more to come for His true disciples after the abomination appears:

Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes… For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Matthew 24:16-18 & 21 AKJV)

Jesus is telling His disciples that when we see this happen, we need to get out of town! This means that we will be here until the AntiChrist stands in the temple, declares himself to be God and blasphemes Heaven and all who reside there. Looking carefully, the Lord implies that we will even be around for a time afterwards, which He refers to as the “great tribulation.”

Why would He tell His true followers to flee if they would not be here for that great tribulation?

With close examination of the first coming of Jesus, the New Testament, the Book of Revelation, and more of Daniel’s prophecy, we will discover:

  • The reason for an extra twelve years will be explained when studying the Feasts of Israel.
  • Who will be here during the tribulation and the following years?
  • How much of the tribulation the faithful followers of the Lord will be around for?

We hope you will continue this journey to understand the mysteries of Revelation with us.

in the Courts of Heaven

Many people think of boot camp as a place you train for combat. Any veteran will tell you that basic training is about three things:
  • Knowing what weapons are available
  • Learning how to use those weapons
  • Receiving orders and following them
Believer’s Boot Camp series is a collection of books which teach us how to hear more clearly from God with the goal to ready ourselves for a face-to-face meeting with our Lord, Jesus. The series reveals the “weapons and tools” God has given us and how to use them, so we can bring God’s kingdom to Earth. Each book in the series focuses on a single topic to clearly define one tool or weapon from our Heavenly Father.

The series uses the Word of God to reveal all that He has given us through Jesus. The Bible is our instruction manual and the Holy Spirit is our guide to understanding it.

Volume 1: Why Doesn't God Speak to Me?

Eager hearts cry out, hoping for a single word to confirm that He hears us. Yet, many times the only sound is silence. Over the years I have heard several reasons why God speaks to some and not to others. One night, as I tossed and turned, I brought each of these reasons before the Lord, stating why each of them did not line up with who I thought He was.

Words rose from my soul, pleading for Him to reveal why He has remained silent when a single word from Him would mean so much to so many. For the next few hours, God used things I learned about years ago and things I had just discovered to show why He talks to some and why He doesn’t, and in demonstrative ways.

In His grace, He also showed me how people could hear more from Him. Basic instructions on how to hear more from God and how to be led by Him are included in this book. Thank you for taking time to consider the answers I received and share with you now.

Thyatira and Sardis Churches

Thyatira and Sardis Churches

For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock. (Psalms 27:5 AMPC)

In this Psalm, David refers to the Secret Place as the “tent” of the Lord. Jesus will visit with us there, not as the Lord who reigns over Heaven and Earth, but as our Beloved and our Brother.

On a visit to the Secret Place, He asked me to tell you about this realm; a place that our Heavenly Father set apart, where we can see not only Jesus, but Abba (Papa, Daddy), instead of Almighty God and the Holy Spirit, as our dear Friend. In order to visit with Him in the Secret Place on a regular basis, we must “overcome” the enemy as described in Revelation. If we will:

Smyrna and Pergamum Churches

Smyrna and Pergamum Churches

Smyrna Church

And to the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Smyrna write: These are the words of the First and the Last, Who died and came to life again… (Revelation 2:8 AMPC)

There is a church who needs to remember that Jesus was the First Born of many and the Last sacrifice we need. They also need to remember that He died, but was brought to life again.

I know your works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but you are rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. (Revelation 2:9 AKJV)

The Lord is speaking to a church that is afflicted and in a state of poverty. There is a popular doctrine that states we should all be rich if we are Christians. It also states that if we are not wealthy, it is through some wrongdoing. This is not what the Word of God says. One of the most popular verses these ministries quote is:

But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 KJV)

In order to understand what Paul is saying, we must put it in the right context of that chapter. Here are some other scriptures from that same chapter to consider:

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. (Philippians 4:11-12 AKJV)

Paul begins by stating that he, the apostle who wrote most of the New Testament, was at one time, poor (abased), in need and hungry. There is no shame in being in need for a season. We then lean upon the Lord while we check ourselves to make sure there are no open doors for the enemy to steal provision. The prophet Elijah lived in a cave, drank from a brook, and was fed by ravens at one point in his life. It is how we conduct ourselves during these times which is a testimony to our Lord.

Before Paul prays for their needs, he says this:

But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God. (Philippians 4:18 AKJV)

The Christians at Philippi had sent an offering to Paul. When they supported his needs, Paul stated that God would supply for their needs. We are not guaranteed to be wealthy, but we are guaranteed to have all our needs met. To say we must be wealthy or that we are failing as a Christian is a doctrine not supported in the Bible. We should carefully research each passage about blessing and provision to see if it is:

  • A response to our actions
  • Applied in the right way

John is writing to a body of believers who work for the Lord despite tribulation and poverty. In the Book of John, he used the word “Jews” to describe people who declared themselves for God, but were really against those who followed Jesus (John 11:8, 13:33). There are Christians in certain parts of the world who will be attacked by those who profess to follow God. This “church” today could be Christians in Syria and around the Middle East, who may be persecuted by the one-world church when they make a covenant with the AntiChrist to build the new temple.

Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be you faithful to death, and I will give you a crown of life. (Revelation 2:10 AKJV)

This is why God began by reminding them that Jesus was the first to be sacrificed and that He was raised from the dead (Revelation 2:8). Our Father was encouraging them to follow that example; they may be killed for the Gospel but they will rise as Christ did. Studying Daniel’s week revealed that there will be a time of persecution of Christians by the Antichrist. This time period isn’t seven days, but seven years. The seven-year Tribulation is within a Jewish period known as the Ten Days of Awe.

This is one of those items in Revelation that we cannot know with 100% certainty how to apply, but we can look at it and be aware! Could this suffering take place for ten years instead of ten days? If the Feast of Trumpets has begun, then so has this suffering. We know that Christians are being imprisoned and martyred in the Middle East, and have been so for several years. Only time will tell if we have begun the ten days of the persecution of the Smyrna Church.

A crown is a symbol of power and achievement. Those who endure persecution and give their life will receive an eternal reward of greater status in the Kingdom of Heaven!

He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches; He that overcomes shall not be hurt of the second death. (Revelation 2:11 AKJV)

The second death happens after the 1000-year reign which we will discuss later. The Smyrna church doesn’t have anything to improve on, they just need to hold on and then they will have a reward for all eternity. There will not be a chance for Satan to persuade them to the wrong side when he is let loose again for a short season after the Lord reigns on earth for 1000 years. The second death is not something they need to fear!

Achievement: Works, tribulation & poverty

Obstacle: Stay true in the face of imprisonment & death

Reward: Crown of Life and freedom from the second death

Pergamum Church

And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things said He which has the sharp sword with two edges… (Revelation 2:12 AKJV)

The sharp double-edged sword is the Word of God. Some Christians have forgotten to hold fast to the scripture!

I know your works, and where you dwell, even where Satan's seat is: and you hold fast My name, and have not denied My faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells. (Revelation 2:13 AKJV)

A Pergamum church is a group of people who work for God, remains in faith, and holds onto the name of Jesus. We learn a lot about this group from the rest of the verse:

  • The Greek word thronos (thron’-os) means seat of power.
  • “Where Satan dwells” means that the Devil will have power in a specific place.
  • Antipas was martyred when Rome was in power throughout the world.

This church is what remains of the churches connected to Antipas. We know the Pope, who governs from Rome, will lead a one-world church during the tribulation period. The AntiChrist will hold power in Syria and the Middle East. There are two possible conclusions we could draw from this:

  1. Christians in those areas of the world will be holding fast to the name of Jesus and will not deny Him even when those dedicated to God are being martyred.
  2. This could be addressed to the churches who claim and honor Saint Antipas.

We should also note that it is said that he died sometime after A.D. 68 and according to the majority of biblical scholars, the time period was probably about the year 92. This is an important confirmation for the time in which the Book of Revelation was written late in Paul’s life, most likely after 70 AD. Since Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD, the references to the destruction of the temple cannot be referring to anything but a future temple that is yet to be constructed.

Concerning future Christians in these types of churches or in the seat of power for Satan, is clinging to the name of Jesus and not denying the faith enough to secure your place in Heaven?

But I have a few things against you, because you have there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit fornication. (Revelation 2:14 AKJV)

The “children of Israel” refers to all of those who are dependent upon the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel). Christians are included according to Galatians chapter six.

A doctrine is a particular teaching in a church. In this context, the teaching follows in the way of Balaam, a diviner: someone who could contact the spirit realm. He showed king Balak that he could defeat Israel by leading them into sin, specifically fornication (sexual sin). This could be allowing for marriage “annulments” for reasons outside of scripture or condoning other types of sexual sin, such as same-sex relationships.

“Eat things sacrificed to idols” could refer to allowing some practices of other religions into the church, such as “holy yoga” and other seemingly harmless physical activities that were founded by pagan religions to worship their gods. The Pope is organizing a “one world” religion to include all religions who worship any type of god. This movement seems to confirm that he is leading the Pergamum church.

So have you also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. (Revelation 2:15 AKJV)

As we discussed, Nicolaitanes are people who use the message of grace through the sacrifice of Jesus to say that we don’t need to worry about sin, encouraging people to follow the flesh and wrong desires instead of walking the narrow path of righteousness. (2 Pet 2:15, 16, 19). Today, we call that the “hyper-grace” message: where your sin doesn’t matter because Jesus is our Lamb, who was sacrificed for our sin. This includes the following teachings:

  • You can continue in sin because saying a salvation prayer is enough to get you into Heaven.
  • You can simply tell God that you are sorry that you messed up, every time you sin and all will be okay.
  • You aren’t expected to stop sinning: it is just part of being human.

If these reflect the state of your heart, then you have received the Nicolaitan doctrine. The online classes at the free Courts of Heaven Academy will not only give you scriptures that show why these beliefs are wrong, but also show you how to remove the power of the enemy which may be holding you in this place of sin.

What is necessary for those in a Pergamum Church?

Repent; or else I will come to you quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth. He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it. (Revelation 2:16-17 AKJV)

Repent means to turn and go the other way. If your church is not urging you to turn from sin and is allowing other religious practices into the body, you may come under judgement according to the Word of God which is the two-edged sword from the mouth of the Lord.

There are two rewards for you if you overcome these sins, one is for this life and one for the next. The first one is easy to define: Manna, which is hidden provision during the Tribulation. Notice that you are not removed from a time of trouble, only provided for through it.

The phrase “a white stone” is something that we may not fully understand until the Lord returns. There are two possibilities that I see at this time:

  • Some say that a white stone was given to the victors of a race. This stone would get them into a private banquet of great privilege. This may mean they will be at the wedding feast, but not part of the bride of Christ.
  • The Talmud is the ancient written beliefs of the Rabbis from the days of Jesus. It tells a story of four sages who entered paradise after receiving a white stone with God’s name on it and meditating upon the name and stone. This would mean that by turning from the sin (white is righteousness), they would gain entrance into Heaven.

Both of these interpretations of a “white stone” have the same outcome: you are present in Heaven. Maybe not as the bride of Christ, but at the wedding as a guest. We will discuss the difference between a wedding guest and the bride when we talk about the 1000-year reign.

Achievement: Works, holds onto His faith and they keep His Name

Obstacle: Remove those leading others into sin, especially of a  sexual nature, and remove food sacrificed to idols

Reward: Provision during the Tribulation and entry into Heaven

There is a big contrast between the Pergamum and Ephesus churches. Even though Ephesus is great at rejecting wrong teaching, because they had lost their love for the Lord, they are in danger of missing Heaven. Pergamum has many beliefs that are wrong, however they are in danger of losing their salvation because of those wrong beliefs. It seems that there are two important factors for salvation, in God’s eyes:

  • Relationship with our Lord; the love we have for Him.
  • Following God’s ways

There is great news for Pergamum. In my private prayer time, the Lord said to tell you not to worry about your loved ones who might be in a Pergamum church. When the time comes, He will provide for those who miss the rapture if they will turn to Him. You will see them again in Heaven.

Lock and Key to the Secret Place

Jesus wants you to know about some basic ways Heaven works. The journey to discover this information began on Monday, during the Dream Interpretation meeting on Zoom. I lost all WiFi connection, then came back in with data on my phone. Within 10 minutes, again I was kicked out and this time I couldn’t open the Zoom app on my phone.

My family was home because of a national holiday. They came downstairs wanting to know what happened to the internet. In the past, God has supernaturally supplied me with WiFi when the whole neighborhood was down so that I could conduct the Agape meetings. Now with the data on my phone being unavailable too, there was no doubt what had happened. I told my family, “I think I’ve messed up and this is a God thing. I’m going upstairs to pray.”

Defining the Secret Place

Defining the Secret Place

Defining Heaven

People who have had a near-death experience (NDE) or have been taken to Heaven, explain it as vivid beyond description. This is one part or one aspect of Heaven. To fully understand experiencing Heaven in this way we must look to the Word of God.

The Old Testament is written in Hebrew and the New Testament was originally written in Greek. If we look to the language of God’s people, the Hebrew word most often used for Heaven is shamayim. It refers to the “unseen” or “invisible” realm and is both singular and plural. Most Christians agree that Heaven is a “spirit realm” because Jesus declared that God is a spirit being:

The False Prophet & the Mark of the Beast

The False Prophet and the Mark of the Beast

We will continue studying the Book of Revelation, not assuming we will find all the answers, but knowing much will remain a mystery until the events unfold. We are quite willing to agree to disagree on many of the interpretations which are only “theory” and cannot be proven at this time. We study the Revelation of John so that our minds are open to possibilities, should these events begin to happen in our generation.

The Beast and the AntiChrist

The Beast and the AntiChrist

One of the blessings of Revelation is that through studying it we can identify some of the plans of the enemy. On the surface, it oftens seems cryptic and impossible to understand. If we let the Bible, and especially the Book of Revelation interpret itself, we can get a glimpse into the playbook of Satan’s army.

Is a Rapture (Catching Away) in the Bible?

Is a Rapture (Catching Away) in the Bible?

Whether you have heard it referred to it as the “Rapture” or the “Catching away of the Saints,” there is a belief among many Christians that some or all of the children of God will escape the terrible calamities prophesied in the Book of Revelation. We must look to scripture to see the truth of this matter.

It is important to remember that we do not have to agree with what is said about this topic. We are saved by our relationship with Jesus as Lord, not by what we believe concerning an impending rapture. Consider this food for thought. May the Holy Spirit bring you wisdom about this topic.

What Does it Mean to be His Bride?

What Does it Mean to be His Bride?

Before we discuss the churches of Revelation, the Lord has asked me to show you what it means to be the Bride of Christ, since the Church is the Bride. When Jesus refers to us as His bride, is more than a title, it is how He feels about you. If you were engaged to be married to the person of your choosing, how would you feel about them? Here is how the Lord revealed His feelings to me:

Hearing The Holy Spirit

The Small Quiet Voice

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you…” (John 16:13 NKJV)

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things…” (John 14:26 NKJ)

When Jesus returned to Heaven He said it was better for us that He leave so He could send the Holy Spirit who would teach us, guide us, help us, and write the laws of God on our hearts (John 16:17, Jeremiah 31:33). Our heart is not the thing that pumps our blood, it is what we cannot live without, our spirit. This is the breath of God which is our eternal being.

The Fulfillment of Appointed Times: The Feasts of Israel

The Fulfillment of the Appointed Times: Feasts of Israel

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7 AKJV)

The Hebrew word sôḏ (sode) is translated secrets, but means secret counsel. God reveals His plans to those whom He calls as prophets. The Word of God, from the Old Covenant to the New, Genesis to Revelation, paints a complete picture of His entire plan for mankind. Hundreds of prophecies were fulfilled by the first coming of Jesus, yet God’s people, Israel, failed to recognize the events as they unfolded.

Hidden Prayer for Secret Place Visits

Hidden Prayer for Secret Place Visits

Standing strong while you wait on God to do as He has promised can be hard. The Bible speaks of it this way:

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth… (Ephesians 6:13-14 ESV)

We stand against all the enemy brings against us while we wait for God to open the door to the Secret Place. I will not explore the entire armor of God here, but the “belt of truth” is what will fuel your tank while driving toward your destiny before meeting with the Lord face-to-face. The Word of God, the Bible, is the truth. It is the first thing mentioned when describing the armor of God. We have some hidden truth about the Secret Place that we can apply here!

Aaronic Blessing

First Level

You may have heard about the Aaronic blessing, but do you know what it meant to those who initially received it. In order to understand the fullness of what God wants to give us, we need to research the section of the Bible where the blessing originated. We need to look at two factors for greater understanding:

NOT Visiting the Secret Place

NOT Visiting the Secret Place

Over a year ago, the Lord told me to visit Him every day in the Secret Place to be strengthened and receive instruction. I took this very seriously and did my utmost to spend time in worship and meditation. Occasionally I’d miss a day and quickly repent.

Last month we recarpeted our entire house. For three weeks we moved everything from the rooms and pulled up the old carpet. On top of this, I decided to repaint one of the largest rooms as well. Needless to say, I was quite busy, working long into the night. Because of this, my meditation time was shortened.

Discernment: Motive Matters

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.... to another discerning of spirits… (1 Corinthians 12:7-10 KJV)

The Holy Spirit brings gifts to help us in this life. It is critical that the full body of Christ, the worldwide Church, uses the gift of discernment for all things. The Greek word diakrisis (dee-ak'-ree-sis) is translated as discerning, but it also means distinguishing or judging. Some may be given a very strong gift of discernment from the Holy Spirit, but as a mature Christian we should all have a basic level of discerning good from evil.

Women Leaders in the Church

Women Leaders in the Church

When I was called into ministry, I asked the Lord, “Are you sure it should be me? Many countries and denominations don’t believe a woman can lead or teach.”

Before I began the journey into my calling, Holy Spirit took me through the New Testament scriptures which spoke about women leaders and put my heart to rest. In the last week the Lord has sent seven people to inquire about women leaders. It is clear that He wants me to share what He has revealed with His body. Paul wrote many letters instructing Christians addressing how the Body of Christ should be organized. In order to fully understand what he wrote, we must:

Closing Spiritual Gates

Closing Spiritual Gates

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23 AKJV)

Apostle Paul identified three parts of every person when writing to the Thessalonians. We are a spirit being in a physical body with a soul (mind, will, and emotions). God is composed of three parts, and so are we as His children. The spirit part of our being is perhaps the most challenging to understand but it is also the part of our being that connects with our Father the most. We can and should connect with our Father, who is a Spirit, in Heaven.

Avoiding Potholes and Staying Out of the Weeds

There are two early journal entries I’d like to share with you to help you stay out of the weeds and avoid potholes while you travel the Roadmap to Heaven.

October 2014

The trials of the last month fade away as I recall how the Lord has confirmed that this is His will for me. I am going to Heaven! Maybe not tonight, maybe not even tomorrow, but He has confirmed it: I'm going. The miraculous story of meeting my 8 ft tall guardian angel, Richard, face to face can be found in the free book Angels Believe in You.

The time in between breaths becomes long as my body completely relaxes. Inside, I rejoice, praising the Lord for His goodness. I am going to Heaven! My spirit soars with joy. Tingling power flows across my body in a strong wave each time I breathe out. Again and again power floods through me like waves of a torrential downpour.

4th Signpost - Time

4th Signpost - Time

The fourth and final signpost is “time.” It was the hardest to accept and I have struggled with it from the beginning. One of my earliest journal entries I recorded while walking the Roadmap, when I was very young in my walk, shows how God revealed this to me in a very personal way:

As I get comfortable for the night, my thoughts speaking to the Lord aren’t exactly respectful: “What's up with this? All day today your presence has been surrounding me and now that I'm here, ready to meditate, You don't even call me? I thought we were practicing for Heaven?”

Silence surrounds me. The Big Guy offers no guidance.

How Jesus Cares for You

Today in the Secret Place the trend of rhyming in song continued. I won’t repeat the exact words, for that is very time consuming. Here is the gist of what occurred:

As we danced, the Lord pointed out that I was slightly out of rhythm with Him. Mentally, I went through all the challenges and tasks awaiting me and released each one to Him. Our steps finally came into sync.

There was one particular project heavy upon my heart. I began asking the Lord questions about it. Our steps got out of sync once more. A wistful smile played about His lips as He asked, “Do you not yet realize that I know what your need is? That I will bring the answer without you asking?”

The questions reminded me of my earthly husband, Tony. He is happiest when he is hard at work and loves to take care of me. Not only is he a great provider for our family, he has let me follow my heart into ministry though it isn’t something he understands or desires.

I looked to the Lord for confirmation, “Is that why You brought Tony to be my husband? So that I would experience what it is like to be taken care of? To have my needs thought of on a daily basis?”

“It is the way a husband should care for his wife and am I not to be your Husband?” He answered.

Meditation and Journaling

Meditation and Journaling

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty… (Psalms 91:1 AMPC)

God would not have Moses begin this psalm by stating it only applies to those who are dwelling in the Secret Place if it were not His will for all of His people to come and be with Him there. This is a Moses generation. God wants to bring all His children to “The Secret Place” where He can speak to them face-to-face. He did this with Moses, and it was His original intent to have all of Israel visit Him this way.

3rd Signpost – Desire

3rd Signpost - Desire

The next two signposts came quietly as I tried to push into the Secret Place once more. I wasn’t at all sure they were the signposts. Surely it couldn’t be that easy. It is very fitting that I had to seek confirmation from the Lord for more than a week before I knew it was the next step to the visit with God.

Most people think of desire as a strong wish or a craving for something. This is only a small part of what the Holy Spirit communicated to me as the meaning of the third step in visiting Heaven. Desire is associated with passion and passion with love. Do you want to visit with God because you love Him and want to get to know Him better? Or is it just to have a new experience? Are you looking to connect with your Father who will be with you for all eternity? Or do you want some spiritual gifts to impress your friends and family.
