...in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up on a rock. (Psalm 27:5 AKJV)
The word “tabernacle” means tent. The Secret Place is called the secret tent of God. This is a psalm (song) of David who had a big destiny with God. A prophet anointed him and declared that he would be the next king of Israel despite the fact that his own father thought so little of him that he wasn’t even called from the field to be tested: the prophet had to ask Jessie if he had any other sons! (1 Samuel 16:11) David was able to walk into his destiny with God because he knew how to abide in the Secret Place. It is God’s great desire to have all His children visit Him there.
One of the most well-known chapters in the Bible, often quoted for power, protection, and healing begins by speaking about the Secret Place:
He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91:1 AKJV)
The blessings which follow depend upon us dwelling in the Secret Place:
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place… (Psalm 91:7-9 AMPC)
You are protected and provided for because you are hidden in the Secret Place with God. It would not be like our loving Father to tell us of wonderful blessings if they were only available to a few people. It was God’s intention to visit with ALL His children as He did with Moses, face-to-face in the Secret Place, but because they had forgotten God’s ways, the Hebrews were too afraid to do it:
And they said to Moses, “Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.” (Exodus 20:19 AKJV)
This is why God commanded everyone but Moses to stay away from Mount Sinai; with their words, they had cursed themselves to die if they approached God. Are there things that can keep us from experiencing God face-to-face, just as God’s people were hindered all those years ago?
In the third Academy workbook (Course 301) we show where soul ties are mentioned in the Bible and what are some of the negative effects of soul ties and how to remove them. In a recent visit to the Secret Place, the Lord revealed that soul ties may allow the enemy to hinder us from visiting the Secret Place. Here is what the Lord showed me:
My heart was troubled by the number of people who had deep wounds in their souls from horrible things that they had experienced at the hands of others. As we had begun helping, some found healing through Soul Healing appointments, where the Holy Spirit reveals to each person the moment the damage was done, and then instantly heals that wound. These private prayer sessions lasted hours and the list for people needing them was growing. A full article about “Soul Healing” can be found in the 301 courses at the Academy and in the third Academy workbook.
During my second or third trip to the Secret Place, the Lord healed me of a burden and wound I thought was long gone. I knew that He could heal each person if they would visit Him in the Secret Place so I asked, “Why aren’t more people visiting you in the Secret Place where You can heal their souls?”
I saw a picture in my mind:
A woman in a bridal gown was on the beach running toward the Lord. Dark objects fell from her as she focused on Him and how much she loved Him. She stood, only a few feet from Him, both with their arms outstretched, longing for one another, but dark cords stretched out behind the woman, keeping her from the Lord’s embrace.
The Lord explained, “My bride (any Christian) must let all the burdens of this life fall away and focus on Me and My good thoughts toward them (the beach). Sin will fall away as they focus on Me and they will come close. But there are ties to their souls which may hinder them from coming into the Secret Place with Me.”
This was a very long speech from the Lord; normally He is a man of few words. I tested the spirits, as He directed us to, by asking, “Do you confess that Jesus has come in the flesh?”
He smiled and drew me to His arms, “Yes, I do confess because I did, and I shall come again.” With His words, I felt how He longed to take each member of His bride into an intimate embrace like this.
Responding to His desire, I said, “Lord, You paid such a high price for us to be with You. There must be a way for all to visit with you in the Secret Place so that You may heal them!”
Gazing into my eyes, He smiled with His approval, “I have provided what you need. Use My Word and pray. Ask for all ties that would hinder them from My will to be cut.”
Scriptures popped instantly into my mind. I knew what to say… and I knew that the Lord would do the rest. Another picture flashed into my mind:
A bride stood with dark shapes attached to her as she struggled to be free. She couldn’t even focus on the Lord, she was in darkness.
He left me with one final warning, “Some are too badly damaged by the enemy to come. Sin is weighing them down and it has given him a place to attack and deter My bride. Until the outpouring of My glory, even when the ties are broken, even when their souls are healed, they will need the help of your team. For this purpose, I have created the Academy. But most will be freed by your prayer, now and when they watch it later.”
Though He answered many unasked questions, this was more information than He usually gives me so I tested the spirits again. After He confessed it was so, I said, “I’m sorry I tested You again… but You sure are giving me a lot more information than you usually do!”
“It’s been a long time since you visited,” His voice held sadness that I hadn’t expected.
I sighed, “Lord, I know you’ve told me to come every day, but I tried that before I had my first visit. I couldn’t even enter Your presence every day. I’m afraid I will just be disappointed.”
“You weren’t searching for Me or focused on Me, you were longing to visit Heaven. If you will focus only on Me, you will be with Me, wherever I am: in your room, in the Secret Place, or in Heaven. You must be satisfied with being with ME. Then you can meet with Me each and every day.”
I hugged Him, wanting nothing more than to stay there with Him for hours. Unfortunately, the Agape Fellowship meeting would start shortly and I had to go.
Two of the scriptures the Lord gave me are above. I am to state these scriptures as proof that it is God’s will for us to enter into the Secret Place. I added two more scriptures asking for His will to be done in your life. (the video of the meeting where I talk about these things is above, with the prayer at the end):
The Spirit of the Lord is on me... because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted... (Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61:1 KJV)
There are actually two words that are translated “brokenhearted:”
- shabar (shä - v - air) - it is more than broken, it is shattered
- leb (lāve) - in this case, “hearted” is referring to our soul; mind, knowledge, thinking, reflection, memory, inclination, resolution, determination, emotions, and passions
The Lord was anointed to heal or bind up the shattered souls of those He spoke to. Soul ties and trauma can harm our souls. These give the enemy easy access to us where we can be manipulated or distracted by him. Notice that our thinking, memory, resolution (will) and emotions can be affected along with our ability to retain knowledge.
During this visit to the Secret Place, Jesus told me that when I quote this scripture, He will once again heal the shattered and broken souls damaged by the enemy. Our Lord will step in and heal your soul if you will let Him.
Will you give Him all your pain? Will you let go of any bitterness and unforgiveness? Will you let the horrible things in your past become a vague memory? This is what the Lord wants to do for you. But you must be willing to let go of it and run to Him.

The Lord said to use one more scripture:
Father, I will that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory, which You have given Me… (John 17:24 AKJV)
This is part of the last and longest recorded prayer of our Lord, right before He ascended into Heaven. It clearly states that our Lord wants us to be with Him where He is: that is in Heaven. To see His glory, which is His power. As Jesus continues to pray, He shows us who He wants with Him:
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word… (John 17:20 KJV)
This was not just for the disciples who walked with Jesus, but for every person who would believe because of their words! The Lord told His disciples about this at other times as well:
In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. (John 14:2-4 KJV)
The Greek word monē (mo-nā') means abode or dwelling. Why would we need to live in God’s house once we go to Heaven? This is about Jesus preparing a dwelling, a Secret Place, where we can visit with God right now! The only way to get there is with our Lord, He is THE WAY!
It is God’s will for us to visit with Him in the Secret Place. Our Lord paid the price and by submitting to Him as Lord, we have the way to go there in the spirit. Jesus told me to ask and He would do it! I hope you will listen to the video at the top of this article and accept the prayer to be free to visit with Him!

- What are you willing to leave behind to visit with the Lord in the Secret Place?
- Will you let go of habits? Hobbies?
- Fun things you know are wrong?
- Are you willing to let the world fall away and have only Him?
This is what it takes to enter the Secret Place.
