Holy Imagination & the Secret Place

VIDEO: Holy Imagination & the Secret Place

During our Tea & Coffee meeting, the topic came up: Should we be using our imagination, envisioning the Secret Place, Throne Room, Jesus, or Heaven to visit with the Lord by picturing the Secret Place, Throne Room, Jesus, or Heaven?

We had invited the Holy Spirit to lead the meeting, and I was shocked by what He revealed.

Teachings about using our “holy imagination” to enter Heaven are becoming prevalent in the Church. What is “holy imagination?” The word “holy” means separate, set apart, sanctified. Can our imagination be holy?

I sought confirmation about what had been revealed during our meeting. The next day as I played uplifting, worship music, I saw myself dancing with the Lord. Meeting with Him was the desire of my heart and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t forcing the issue, so I tested the spirits:

“Do you confess that Jesus, the Christ, has come in the flesh upon the Earth?” I asked.

My dancing partner bowed and kissed my hand, “I do so confess because I did and I shall come again.”

Dancing with great exuberance, I spun around and around, moving away from the Lord, and back again, at a frantic pace. The Lord pulled me close, “Peace, be still.” He whispered. What was happening in the spirit was a reflection of what was happening in my life. A new need had arisen at Agape Christian Fellowship and I was working frantically to get things in order. “Relax and just BE.” His words calmed my spirit and I relaxed against Him.

After a few minutes, I whispered, “May I ask you something?”

I could feel Him smile, “Always,” He stated.

“If I am to teach people about coming here, I need to know: Is it okay to use our imagination to get here?”

The Lord’s response was slow and measured, each word was purposefully spoken, “It is good to keep your mind focused on things above. It is right to keep your mind focused on Yahweh (the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).”

We danced for a few seconds before He continued, “Trying to control/demand when and where you connect with YOUR Creator is an act of rebellion. Who is man to tell God when and where He should be? This is idolatry, placing yourself above God and rebelling against His control.” I could feel His sadness at what was happening. I caused Him pain by leading those who are really seeking Him to be led astray.

“Oh, Lord,” I asked, “let those searching for You, find You and no other.”

The Lord showed me how this would happen, He stated, “Always let the Holy Spirit guide you, never try to guide the Spirit. It is We who lead you, not man who leads Us.”

He pulled me close, “If they will focus on Me and let any desire they have, the world and all things in it, fall away, they shall find Me.”  This is the true way to enter Heaven and the Secret Place: we don’t seek the place, we seek our Lord in our spirits, (our hearts), not with our soul (mind, will, and emotions).

The Lord told me to go and write this down and make it clear. When I opened my eyes, I was shocked to see only three minutes had passed during this visit to the Secret Place. Writing down what happened took a lot longer and that was the easy part. Next, I had to research everything that was said: it must be in agreement with God’s word to be a valid visit to the Secret Place.

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2 AKJV)

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 AKJV)

Setting our minds on God and our place in His kingdom is good. Picturing Jesus can sometimes be helpful when we worship. However, we will find Him when we seek Him with our whole hearts, not Heaven.

I have spread out My hands all the day to a rebellious people, which walks in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; (Isaiah 65:2 AKJV)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV)

We are not to focus on our own thoughts or our own imagination because it is a tool, not the thing we are seeking. Our imagination can stir up our love, but if we focus on what we imagine instead of God, this places our minds - part of our soul - above God. We are focusing on an image we create instead of on God.

The Lord may appear in any way HE chooses. We must let go of the images once our hearts are set on God. We are to follow the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit, not of created images, expecting God to use what we, ourselves have created.  As the Lord said to me, and this scripture stated, following after OUR imagination is exalting our own soul (where our imagination comes from) above God.

“...for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.” (1 Samuel 8:7 AKJV)

God is to reign over us: He is to lead us. Letting man, even ourselves lead and expect God to follow our imagination, is rebellion against God’s authority in our lives. The Lord has provided all we need and it doesn’t come from our soul or our own imagination:

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14 KJV)

We need to let the Holy Spirit be in complete control. This means letting go of everything else, our imagination, our own will, and all this world is. If we will focus on the Lord and how much we love Him, the Holy Spirit is our Guide, He will lead us to the Secret Place.

in the Courts of Heaven

Many people think of boot camp as a place you train for combat. Any veteran will tell you that basic training is about three things:

  • Knowing what weapons are available
  • Learning how to use those weapons
  • Receiving orders and following them
Believer’s Boot Camp series is a collection of books which teach us how to hear more clearly from God with the goal to ready ourselves for a face-to-face meeting with our Lord, Jesus. The series reveals the “weapons and tools” God has given us and how to use them, so we can bring God’s kingdom to Earth. Each book in the series focuses on a single topic to clearly define one tool or weapon from our Heavenly Father.

The series uses the Word of God to reveal all that He has given us through Jesus. The Bible is our instruction manual and the Holy Spirit is our guide to understanding it.

Why Doesn't God Speak to Me?

Believers’ Boot Camp, Volume 1

Eager hearts cry out, hoping for a single word to confirm that He hears us. Yet, many times the only sound is silence. Over the years I have heard several reasons why God speaks to some and not to others. One night, as I tossed and turned, I brought each of these reasons before the Lord, stating why each of them did not line up with who I thought He was.

Words rose from my soul, pleading for Him to reveal why He has remained silent when a single word from Him would mean so much to so many. For the next few hours, God used things I learned about years ago and things I had just discovered to show why He talks to some and why He doesn’t, and in demonstrative ways.

In His grace, He also showed me how people could hear more from Him. Basic instructions on how to hear more from God and how to be led by Him are included in this book. Thank you for taking time to consider the answers I received and share with you now.

Keys to Authority for Every Believer

Believers’ Boot Camp, Volume 2

There is untapped power that is easy for every Christian to access in the form of authority. The keys to this authority will unlock weapons we can use to free ourselves from the attacks of the enemy. We must be intimately aware of the bounds and limitations of our weapon if they are to be used effectively.

Find out about your authority:
  • Why you need it.
  • Where it comes from.
  • What you can do with it.
  • How to get more.

Destroying Curses in the Courts of Heaven

Believers’ Boot Camp, Volume 3

Our rights to appear in the Courts of Heaven have been greatly undervalued. The missing key to our authority is here. Jesus has provided the access and the Bible shows us the court procedures. When we learn to operate in our rightful place as children of the Most High, the enemy will be defeated and we will see the victory we have prayed for.

The death of Jesus freed us from the curse of the law. However, we must declare this freedom just as we must make a declaration for our salvation.

  • Can curses be passed to our children?
  • What are signs of a curse?
  • How do you get rid of one?

Every answer is backed by scripture. Come and find out how easy it is to be free!

Roadmap to Heaven

Believers’ Boot Camp, Volume 4

As I meditated and sought the Lord, a vision overcame me. A “Roadmap to Heaven” was deposited into my soul. We are entering a season of unparalleled access to Heaven. Jesus is calling all who are His to visit with Him in the Secret Place of the Most High.

  • What is the Secret Place?
  • How do we enter?
  • What will we find there?

The Bible holds the answers, the mystery has been revealed. As you use the map given in this book to journey to the Secret Place, discover your destiny and find the gifts the Holy Spirit will bring along the way.
