Breaking Generational Curses

VIDEO: Generational Curses

You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me… (Deuteronomy 5:9 AMPC)
Certain sins can pass down to our offspring for several generations. We know Jesus came to redeem us from the curse of the Law (singular), which was passed unto all mankind, for it is written, “all have come short of the glory of God.” If you broke any part of the Law of Moses, the curse you encountered for breaking the Law was that your final destination would be Hell. There were other curses (plural) that were determined by the actual sin. These curses can be passed down the generational line due to that sin.
When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath (your exasperation, your fury or indignation) last until the sun goes down. Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]. (Ephesians 4:26-27 AMPC)
This is one of the many places that the New Testament encourages us to turn from our sin. If sin has no effect on our life, then why should we turn from it? This is one scripture showing that the sin of anger gives the enemy an opportunity to attack us in this life.
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 AKJV)
If God’s mercy is new every day, then when we sin, so are His judgments, until we repent and plead the blood of Jesus over them. This is why we are encouraged to remove any sin immediately. When the sins belong to our ancestors, they are labeled as generational curses that may be a stronghold for demons to influence us. These influences are negative behaviors that can be seen in others along our family line. Like our DNA, they seem to be passed on from our ancestors and often we think that they are “just who we are.” If our mother or father was an alcoholic or had trouble forgiving others, we can be fooled into accepting what is really a stronghold for the enemy to move into our life and bring sickness, attack relationships, or wreck our finances.

These “traits” produce a particular type of behavior that is demonically influenced due to sins of our ancestors and when we continue to operate in these traits, a demonic attachment may develop. When we know how ancestral curses impact us, we can confess the sins of our ancestors (Daniel 9) and repent if we ourselves have personally opened the door to them. This allows the Lord to remove charges in the Courts of Heaven (CoH) and remove the access of enemy spirits to us and our family.

A generational curse is revealed when parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents commit the same sin over and over again. You can then confess it and renounce it, covering the sin with the blood of Jesus. We see the need for this in the New Testament:
“You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.” (Matthew 23:26 ESV)
We must take care of all sins in our life, even internal ones. Repentance is needed to remove sins that allow a curse to remain in our lives.
As the bird by wandering, as the Swallow by flying; so the curse causeless shall not come. (Proverbs 26:2 KJV)
Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me. (Deuteronomy 5:9 KJV)
The word translated “hate” is the Hebrew word sane, which can also be translated as “enemy.” Sins are actions against God’s ways and His kingdom. They align us with Satan instead of God, which then gives a curse a place to land in our lives.

Two Types of Generational Curses

The enemy looks to hinder and afflict us through two types of ancestral curses:
  1. Sins
  2. Agreements
Curses can be activated by the actions of our ancestors and must be dealt with in different ways.

Sins

The soul that sins, it [is the one that] shall die. The son shall not bear and be punished for the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear and be punished for the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him only, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon the wicked only. (Ezekiel 18:20 AMPC)
This verse seems to say that the sins of our ancestors cannot affect us. We must not take this out of context. The entire chapter is devoted to urging God’s people to walk in the ten commandments. Right before this verse, we see this:
Yet do you say, Why does not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son has done that which is lawful and right and has kept all My statutes and has done them, he shall surely live. (Ezekiel 18:19 AMPC)
In order for the sins of our father not to affect us, we must not walk in the same sin. When the enemy knows there is a possibility of activating a curse, he puts pressure on us to commit the same type of sin as our ancestors so that he has a place in our lives.
When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation. (Leviticus 4:14 AKJV)
In the Book of Leviticus, the first step for anyone who sinned was to recognize that they had sinned. You were able to make a sacrifice for a sin only after you became aware of it.

One of the first people we helped in the CoH was a red-headed acquaintance of mine; let’s call her Lucy. Like many people with flaming red hair, her temper was just as fiery as her mane. When she got mad, Lucy would explode both with words and deeds. Later she would regret her actions, but she just couldn’t seem to stop herself.

In the Courts, charges came forth concerning her ancestors. Even though she was adopted, she knew her biological mother was guilty of these sins. Both she and her sisters were guilty of many of the behaviors as well, which marked it as a generational curse. Those unrepented sins, along with the angry outbursts, allowed that particular curse to remain attached to her.

After confessing for herself and her ancestors and applying the blood of Jesus, the charges were overruled. The first weeks after her visit to the Courts, Lucy found that just as she was about to have an outburst, she was able to stop, turn around, and leave the room. Of course, with each incident, she would still ask for forgiveness and plead the blood over the actions she averted.

During the next month or so, Lucy was able to catch her temper after a single word or a hand slap on a wall. Six months after her visit to the Courts, the anger felt like it was coming from outside her. It was so foreign to her that it was almost laughable. Now, Lucy could easily push the behavior aside.

The only way to break a generational curse is to find out what sin you have walked in that was connected to your ancestors’ sin. Through confession, this sin can be removed by the blood of Jesus and the curse can be broken. We no longer have to sacrifice an animal, because of what our Lord has done, but we do need to turn from the sin!
“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order. Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first.” (Luke 11:24-26 ESV)
When we remove a curse, the enemy will leave, sometimes for a few days or a few months. Then he will return to see if a place is still open for him to come back. We must turn from sin and not go back to it.

Agreements

An agreement with the enemy by our ancestors can be found in many forms:
  • Oaths & Covenants
  • Dedications
  • Sacrifices
These actions can be carried out with or without the use of blood. Unlike other curses that only last three or four years, these will remain until they are renounced and a payment is made for the agreement. The Blood of Jesus has paid the price for our freedom but we must confess the sins.

Some sacrifices and oaths can be passed down our generational line. Shrines can be found outside of cities or villages in some countries. To enter certain places, visitors are required to place a sacrifice by the shrine. This is actually worshiping and offering a sacrifice to another god which may allow a demon to attach to us and be passed down to future generations. The curse will continue as long as someone in the family line commits idolatry or a sin connected to worshiping other gods.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king. (1 Samuel 15:23 AKJV)
Idolatry is not only bowing down to a statue, it is any action we stubbornly persist in doing that does not agree with the word of God.
Mortify therefore your members which are on the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry… (Colossians 3:5 KJV)
Idolatry occurs when you desire what others have or you place your desires above God. Unless you find the root of idolatry in your life, then blindly renouncing the possible sins of your ancestors will do no good. You must find the root of your sin as well as renounce your ancestor's sin so that the curse can be broken.

Blood Rituals

Using blood in rituals is a common practice in secret societies all around the world. When blood is involved, the agreement has an additional witness in the CoH.
What have you done? the voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground.  (Genesis 4:10 AKJV)
So you shall not pollute the land wherein you are: for blood it defiles the land: (Numbers 35:33 AKJV)
Blood always speaks. The more blood the perpetrators shed, the more judgment they fall into, and the more polluted the land becomes. Blood rituals, or any form of agreement, require a witness. Paul said:
In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established. (2 Corinthians 13:1 AKJV)
One witness is from the person declaring a statement and the other is from the blood that cries out from the ground. Praise God that the perfect blood of Jesus still cries out for mercy! It will trump any other cry of blood.

All of these items are spoken or written out between our ancestors and Satan’s kingdom. It will take a verbal confession and the blood of Jesus stated as payment to remove them. I have seen this many times in visits to the CoH.

When a person confesses and renounces their ancestor's sin and confesses and repents for their own, a legal agreement between the ancestors and the enemy is placed before the Lord. As they plead the blood over the sins, the Lord places His palm on the document. When it is removed, it is stamped, with His blood, “Paid in full.”

Other CoH Academy books will show you how the scriptures prove why the blood must be applied to sin in order to be free. Once you have faith in this necessity, you are ready to claim your freedom. Sometimes we need help to find the root cause. Once you complete the core courses at the Academy (101-401) then you can schedule an intercession if there are still unresolved issues. When God reveals a generational sin, you should do the following:
  • Acknowledge that you and your ancestors have sinned.
  • Acknowledge that the Mighty Judge was right to judge you and your ancestors, and you have been justly afflicted by the enemy.
  • Plead the blood over the sins of your ancestors and your sins as well.
  • Ask the Lord to contend for you in the Courts, removing any cases where the sins have been blotted out.
  • Ask the Lord to remove all curses that no longer have a place to land in your life and restore all the enemy has taken from you.
God sent His only begotten Son to die for you because of His deep love for you. God has a purpose and a great destiny for each one of you. There is hope in Christ, once we become aware of what is against us. Keep your eyes focused on Him and may the Holy Spirit, our Counselor in Heaven, make you aware of any generational curses that you need to remove.

Believers' Boot Camp series

Believers' Boot Camp - Volume One
Believers' Boot Camp: Volume Two
Roadmap to Heaven
Destroying Curses
in the Courts of Heaven

Many people think of boot camp as a place you train for combat. Any veteran will tell you that basic training is about three things:
  • Knowing what weapons are available
  • Learning how to use those weapons
  • Receiving orders and following them
Believer’s Boot Camp series is a collection of books which teach us how to hear more clearly from God with the goal to ready ourselves for a face-to-face meeting with our Lord, Jesus. The series reveals the “weapons and tools” God has given us and how to use them, so we can bring God’s kingdom to Earth. Each book in the series focuses on a single topic to clearly define one tool or weapon from our Heavenly Father.

The series uses the Word of God to reveal all that He has given us through Jesus. The Bible is our instruction manual and the Holy Spirit is our guide to understanding it.

Volume 1: Why Doesn't God Speak to Me?

Eager hearts cry out, hoping for a single word to confirm that He hears us. Yet, many times the only sound is silence. Over the years I have heard several reasons why God speaks to some and not to others. One night, as I tossed and turned, I brought each of these reasons before the Lord, stating why each of them did not line up with who I thought He was.

Words rose from my soul, pleading for Him to reveal why He has remained silent when a single word from Him would mean so much to so many. For the next few hours, God used things I learned about years ago and things I had just discovered to show why He talks to some and why He doesn’t, and in demonstrative ways.

In His grace, He also showed me how people could hear more from Him. Basic instructions on how to hear more from God and how to be led by Him are included in this book. Thank you for taking time to consider the answers I received and share with you now.

Keys to Authority for Every Believer

There is untapped power that is easy for every Christian to access in the form of authority. The keys to this authority will unlock weapons we can use to free ourselves from the attacks of the enemy. We must be intimately aware of the bounds and limitations of our weapon if they are to be used effectively.

Find out about your authority:
  • Why you need it.
  • Where it comes from.
  • What you can do with it.
  • How to get more.

Our Guide to the Secret Place

VIDEO: Our Guide Meeting

The Holy Spirit asked me to provide an introduction for Him so that He could move into your life in greater measure. He sent a dream a few years back: It was the first dream the Holy Spirit ever interpreted before I even knew it was a gift He gives to people. This dream shows us not only how to get to the Secret Place but also what role the Holy Spirit plays in that trip:

I left an Indian encampment with a minister I was learning from (dark-haired man) and two people I lovingly referred to as “Hippy,” a long-haired man who smoked a pipe with vision causing materials in it and “Linebacker,” a large woman who was bigger than most men. Dark-haired man led us to an old dock with a canoe that had seen better days. He was in the front, followed by Hippy, me, then Linebacker at the end of the boat.

Finding and Closing Spiritual Gates

Closing Gates Meeting with Prayer
He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalms 91:1)
The opening line to one of the most power-packed prayers in the entire Bible begins by speaking about the Secret Place of God.This is a destination in the spiritual realm where you can be hidden in a private fellowship with God. We are a spirit being in a physical body with a soul (mind, will, and emotions). We can and should connect with our Father, who is a Spirit, in Heaven. The Word also tells us that the Lord is the one who opens the gate (door, portal)  and leads us into these encounters:
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (John 10:9)
According to the words of our Lord, there is going in and coming out of the Secret Place through Him. This is the right way to enter into the spirit realm. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:17) and He should always be there if we are moving about in the spirit. If we access the realm of the spirit without Him, we may have an open door through which  the enemy can  come in and attack us.

The Key to Meditation & the Secret Place

The Key (meeting)

Basics of Meditation

Meditation means to engage in contemplation or reflection. It is letting go of all the things in this physical world and focusing on something in your mind; your imagination. The Bible tells us that our thoughts are important. Scripture instructs us in what we should be meditating on:
“I will meditate also on all Your work, and talk of Your doings.” (Psalms 77:12 AKJV)
“Meditate on these things; give yourself wholly to them; that your profiting may appear to all.” (1 Timothy 4:14 AKJV)
Paul instructs Timothy to meditate and think on the gifts that had been given to him by the Holy Spirit. When we meditate on the things of God it honors Him. This allows Him to reveal more about those things to us.

The Message of 313

VIDEO: The Message of 313

[God’s voice may be heard] if there is for the hearer a messenger or an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him [how to be upright and in right standing with God]... (Job 33:23 AMPC)

Interpretation is one of the gifts from the Holy Spirit. It is like a word of wisdom or knowledge. Often this gift is used for dreams, as with Joseph and Daniel, but it can be applied to numbers when they come in a miraculous way.

When I renewed my relationship with God, many years ago, He spoke audibly to me and brought an instant, miraculous healing. My husband's response was, “Good for you, Honey, mind over matter.”

Concerned that he would grieve the Holy Spirit, I began praying for him each night, asking God to speak to Him so that Tony would not miss what He was going to do in my life. After two months, in September of 2001, my husband received the same numbers on his food receipts three days within the same week. Tony, as an Engineer, knew that this was a mathematical impossibility, much like being struck by lightning nine times. Because the cycle of numbers changes each day, it may be many years before a person might receive the same numbers twice. The number Tony received was 313. Here is what the actual numbers mean according to God’s word:

Our Mind vs The Holy Spirit

Our Mind vs The Holy Spirit

Testing Holy Spirit

One day I received a disturbing message from a student at the CoH Academy. She said, “I asked the Holy Spirit if everything was going to go my way in an earthly court case and He said that I would be victorious. I even tested it by asking if Jesus the Messiah came in the flesh and the spirit agreed. But I lost! How can this happen?”

During my prayer time I asked the Holy Spirit what happened, “You are never wrong, so it wasn’t you who spoke to her. Was there something wrong with the way the spirit was tested? Is there a way to get around the testing?”

He replied, “I wasn’t speaking to her. The enemy wasn’t speaking to her. It was her own mind. She is too focused on the problem. She is a young Christian; her soul is still dominating her spirit. She has placed this problem above God; it is an idol. Her own mind is in control of it.”

“Oh no,” I thought. “Then how can Christians be sure that what they are hearing is from You?”

The Voice of God - 313

The Miracle

313 Video

I hoped this day would not come; it was my intention to never speak about these things outside of the book God told me to write. In my prayer time with the Lord, He asked me to tell you the full story of the miraculous sign of 313, leaving nothing out. For the first time I will share everything, all at once. This is so you know how I received this number and could then see how it applies to you and your life.

The very first year I devoted my life to God was filled with signs, wonders, and miracles. In the early summer of 2001, I lay in bed, praying as I always did, “Dear God, I thank you so much for…”

A loud voice that sounded like it came from everywhere and nowhere interrupted my prayer and said, “I bless you.”

Leviathan - Who, How, What

VIDEO: Leviathan

You crushed the heads of Leviathan; You gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness. You split open springs and brooks; You dried up ever-flowing streams. (Psalms 74:14-15 ESV)

This is a psalm recounting how God delivered His people from Egypt after they cried out for deliverance. The chronological order of events helps us to identify the armies of Egypt as Leviathan because the next item describes the time after Pharoah’s defeat when God brought water from the rocks in the wilderness.

Thanks to this description we know that the metaphorical meaning of Leviathan is an army. In the spiritual realm, Satan’s network, hovering over the Earth, is called by the same name. He is described by God who speaks with Job:

Abba is Waiting

VIDEO: Abba is Waiting Meeting

When things go wrong in my life, I immediately seek the Lord to see if it is a trial or a test, or if I have gone wrong somewhere and left myself open to an attack from the enemy. This is what the Bible tells us to do:

In You, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in Your righteousness. (Psalm 31:1 AKJV)

The Hebrew word chacah (khä·säw)  is translated as “put my trust,” but according to “Strong’s Concordance” it means to trust, put hope upon, and seek refuge. The Lord wants us to run to Him when things go wrong in order to be delivered from what is attacking us. It shouldn’t matter if it is the flu that is going around, an accident, or something bigger. We can seek Jesus and ask why it is happening.

Removing Blockages to the Secret Place

VIDEO: Removing Blockages to the Secret Place

...in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up on a rock. (Psalm 27:5 AKJV)

The word “tabernacle” means tent. The Secret Place is called the secret tent of God. This is a psalm (song) of David who had a big destiny with God. A prophet anointed him and declared that he would be the next king of Israel despite the fact that his own father thought so little of him that he wasn’t even called from the field to be tested: the prophet had to ask Jessie if he had any other sons! (1 Samuel 16:11) David was able to walk into his destiny with God because he knew how to abide in the Secret Place. It is God’s great desire to have all His children visit Him there.

How to Find and Remove Soul Ties

Find and Remove Soul Ties

Soul ties are bridges in the spirit realm that connect to our mind, will, and emotions. The emotions are a key point of contact: Almost any powerful emotional and passionate encounter with other people can form or forge soul ties. Traumas like fights, arguments, strife, accidents, fires, earthquakes, sickness, wars, death, etc. have the potential to establish a negative spiritual influence in our lives. There are good ties, as we discussed in Benefits of Soul ties. There are also ungodly ties that give the enemy access to us.

Benefits of Soul Ties

The topic of soul ties can be very difficult to understand unless you are aware of two basic principles:
  1. The Rightful Order of Creation
  2. We are Like God
Let’s establish a basis of understanding for these things first.

Spiritual Traps Through Technology

VIDEO: Spiritual Influences
Words are powerful. If we entertain gossip with others, a spiritual tie can go down to the “inmost part” or our soul. We don’t have to be physically present with that person. We can partake of gossip through written words or videos, and still find ourselves under attack. When we like, share, or even watch a video on social media sites e.g., YouTube, we are supporting these things. As a Christian, we should consider what we are supporting. What endeavors are you lending your voice to? What spirits are you giving a place to by agreeing (liking, sharing or listening to), as you watch videos?

You may be thinking about films with sex, violence, or witchcraft in them. It is true that we should guard our heart against these and try to avoid supporting them in any way, but I was sent a “free” one hour version of a video about religious leaders on YouTube and was very disturbed by what I saw. While watching this video, a deep fog settled around my head. I knew the video was wrong, but I couldn’t put two thoughts together to understand why. It was this mistake that made us realize we have to be careful and discern what we are listening to.

The evidence presented was short clips taken out of context with a lot of accusations and many people saying how great the full video was. The only thing I could pinpoint was that it was nothing more than an hour-long teaser for the paid version. This is the same tactic used in the Garden of Eden. Eve had added to what God said and Satan used that:
“But of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.” (Genesis 3:3 AKJV)
God only said not to eat it. Eve added the word “touch.” The snake (Satan) urged Eve to touch the fruit and perhaps when she found that it didn’t harm her, she also ate it. When words are twisted, taken out of context, or added to, the enemy has an opportunity to lead us astray.

This tactic of inflaming facts to draw attention is not new. The evening news figured out years ago that more people watch bad news because it stirs up our emotions. Videos may slant the facts, presenting a wrong view to stir up fear and condemnation for you to like and share so they can make money!

Short comments in this particular video were taken out of context to condemn others - this is not honest or the TRUTH and God is TRUTH. It is easy to pick things apart and stir up a mob, but can you dig through some of the flesh and see the gold underneath?
IT WAS THE PHARISEES WHO STIRRED UP THE MOB TO CONDEMN JESUS.
When His disciples wanted to call down fire on those preaching the Gospel but not associated with Jesus, the Lord said, "No. He who is not against us is for us."
“...Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” (1 Chronicles 16:22 AKJV)
When someone has been anointed by God, we are not to come against them. King David was a man after God’s own heart. When Saul was being tormented by demons and sending armies to kill him, David would not attack Saul because he was anointed by God even though David, himself, was also anointed by God.

In 2 Samuel 12, God sent a prophet to correct David for the killing of Bathsheba's husband. The prophet strongly rebuked David for his actions. Nathan the prophet was sent to David to give correction, not to stir up the populous against him. Unless you are a prophet and are sure you are hearing from God to give a correction, you should not touch God's anointed!

Because I had listened to the words of this video that were meant to stir up anger and outrage, a spiritual influence had come upon me. After I spent time in God’s intense presence and broke all soul ties, the fog lifted and I could think again. That was when I knew I had to write this article and warn others to be careful of what you are exposing yourself to.

Don’t watch programs or read articles that stir up your passion for anything that is not God, His Word (Jesus), or the Holy Spirit! It creates an open door that may let the enemy hinder you from receiving guidance from the Holy Spirit. When something is coming against an anointed man or woman of God, this is the most dangerous type of video; listening to it may cause a spiritual hindrance.

What you find in some videos and posts on social media are meant to stir up people who will LIKE, SHARE and WATCH, so that a profit can be made. Because they are invoking intense emotions in a skewed manner, it leaves our spirits open to influences that are not from God. If you like or share prayer requests and say amen, you may be coming into wrong agreement, which could bring an attack from the enemy as well. See the Courts of Heaven Academy Workbook 2 or the 201 classes online for information about what to look out for concerning wrong agreement.

Be careful not to come into agreement with wrong prayers. God doesn’t work through fear and condemnation.

DON’T LIKE, SHARE OR EVEN WATCH THESE TYPES OF THINGS!

If you do come into wrong agreement, it is easy to fix what you have done with the help of our Lord. The best prayer I have ever heard for severing soul ties was from a Team Member at Agape Christian Fellowship:
Lord Jesus, please remove any ties to my soul. I desire to be holy for YOU. For it is written, “You shall be holy, for I AM holy” (1 Peter1:16 KJV) To be separated unto YOU and YOU alone, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, according to the word of GOD. (Hebrews 4:12) I take the sword of the Spirit – Your Word – (for YOUR Word God is quick, and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)) – and sever any ties in YOUR mighty Name. In YOUR name, Jesus, I thank YOU for cutting any ties to my spirit. Any bridge that was developed through prayer/thoughts/words. Mighty GOD, I ask to strengthen all ties to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name AMEN!
When we back up our actions with the rightly applied Word of God, it is more powerful than anything in this world! As children of God, our words are very powerful. We need to be aware that words can help us or open us to danger. The electronic age has another pitfall we should look out for as well.

Dangers of Avatars

Avatars are a concept in Hinduism that means coming from another level, a descent. It is primarily used in connection with the physical appearance or incarnation of many of their gods on Earth. This is why they use a term meaning descent, referring to spirits moving from one plane of existence to another.

Does this mean that an avatar is evil? The word is merely describing what they believe is occurring.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1 AKJV))
Jesus is the Word. He was God in the flesh and a man on this Earth. For this reason, some may refer to Jesus as the avatar of Yahweh.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.       (1 Thessalonians 5:23 ESV)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 ESV)
Paul makes it very clear that we are a spirit who has a soul and lives in a body. This confirms what God said to Jeremiah: He knew us before we were born. This means we existed in Heaven before we were born here on Earth. Every human being is an avatar according to the Hindu concept of the original word.

We understand that like many words, though the original definition of the word was linked to a spirit taking bodily form, in the modern day world we now use this term to refer to a broader spectrum closer to a representation rather than an actual manifestation. According to Merriam-Webster:
  1. a variant phase or version of a continuing basic entity the latest avatar of the conservative movement
  2. an electronic image that represents and may be manipulated by a computer user (as in a game)
Most people see an “avatar,” in the most basic sense, as representing a living entity that has taken a different form. This type of system has been used in many cultures in a myriad of ways, though they were not referred to as avatars by:
  • The Government
  • In Games
  • On Electronic Systems
There are dangers involved in these representations as well, which we will address. The primary danger comes from misusing the word “avatar” which has a spiritual connection. Satan is a legalist. He loves to use our words against us.
But I say to you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned. (Matthew 12:36-37 AKJV)
When we begin confessing that we have an “avatar” then we are saying that our spirit is attached to that item. Likewise, if a program or game says to create your “avatar” we may be in danger of coming into wrong agreement with what will happen.

We need to find a better, more accurate way to describe what is actually occurring. No one actually believes that they are being physically created in a game or an electronic device, yet by calling it an “avatar” this is what we are declaring it to be. Let’s look at some of the ways we are represented by another object and see if there is a better way to describe what is going on.

Avatars in Government

Since 1936 America implemented a system of identifying people for financial and legal purposes. People are assigned a social security number which represents who they are to the government. We can use this to identify ourselves in legal and financial matters.  The very specific and accurate name given to the representation, puts it into its proper place:
  • Social: our place in society
  • Security: to secure into place
  • Number: a nine-digit number represents us
Every American should be aware of the dangers of having their social security number in the wrong hands, especially if their full name and birth date are also acquired by others. With these key pieces of information our identity can be stolen. Our finances can be attacked and our life can be greatly disrupted. Just like social security numbers, other identifying representations can bring dangers into our lives.

Game Components

Game pieces representing persons, places, and things have been around since the release of Monopoly at the very least. In this board game, we boldly declare, “I am the hat,” “I am the shoe,” “I am the iron,” etc. Every move that the hat makes in the Monopoly board game, the player is responsible for. If the player with the hat game piece makes a move and lands on the “go to jail” square, that player must pay $50 to get out of jail. That player doesn’t actually change into the hat, so it is not an “avatar.” That piece is merely representing you in the game.

The items are correctly labeled:
  • Game - a contest with specific rules
  • Piece - a part of a larger whole
Operating through a game piece which you control and represents you may still have a few dangers. It is a long-held debate on whether our actions in a game can be held against us. If lying is expected in playing a certain game, are we guilty of the sin of lying?
Like a madman who casts firebrands, arrows, and death, So is the man who deceives his neighbor and then says, Was I not joking? (Proverbs 26:18-19 AMPC)
Jesus made it clear that the sin of lust and murder occur in our hearts. In this scripture, it seems that even if we deceive or lie to others, then claim to be joking, it is not okay with God.

I have endured much ridicule in life because I do not like to lie, even in a game. If the game requires lying, I abstain. Why would I want to run the chance of walking crosswise with God for a game! It isn’t worth it.

Electronic Avatars

Since the development of video games, we have been using electronic representations. The very first “role-playing game” RPG in 1979 was called Avatar. According to Wikipedia,

The use of the term avatar for the on-screen representation of the user was coined in 1985 by Richard Garriott for the computer game Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar. In this game, Garriott desired the player's character to be his earth self-manifested into the virtual world. Garriott did this because he wanted the real player to be responsible for the character's in-game actions due to the ethical parables he designed into the story.

We should consider this original intent anytime we have a character on a screen that we are controlling. Could the actions we command to be done be spiritually dangerous? There are some actions in a game that do not involve other people. Spiritually speaking, you may not be committing a sin, because you haven’t acted against a person. However, you may want to consider:
  • Lies are told to other people: If we lie to a NPC (non-player character) we are not really lying to a person, for it is only a computer program. Can repeatedly performing this action make it seem that lying is not such a big deal?
  • Murder is committed when a person actually dies, so killing someone in a game is not murder. Does our heart become more accepting of extreme measures, even death to achieve our goals?
There are actions that our electronic representative or avatar can perform which are sins. There doesn’t need to be a recipient of the action to qualify it as sin in God’s eyes:
  • Worshipping other gods: if the person we are in control of has to worship another god, and we are commanding that avatar to perform that action, then we are guilty.
  • Performing magic spells: witchcraft and spells need no recipient to open a door to the enemy. The act of performing the spell is opening the door.
  • Cursing: as Christians we are told to bless and not curse. We are also told to let no profane language come out of our mouths. Do not use the excuse that it is only a game lead you into cursing.
If a game requires these actions, you should abstain. If you have performed them, you could confess and plead the blood over the actions you come into agreement with. We should not add to these dangers by referring to the image on the screen as our “avatar.” We are then confessing that we are placing ourselves into that game, creating a legal spiritual link.

How should we refer to an image that may take on either a two-dimensional form as an icon in Internet forums and other online communities or a three-dimensional form, as in games or virtual worlds. The term “picons” (personal icons) was used to identify a graphical representation of a user or the user's character or persona for some time, but has been pushed out of popularity by the word avatar. We need to bring this word back because it correctly identifies what is happening:
  • Personal - it is chosen by and may even look like us
  • Icon - a symbol or graphic representation
The words comprising “picon” correctly identify what is happening when we create electronic representations of ourselves. We do hope you will pray about coming onto agreement with the concept of avatars.

Getting Grace & Mercy for Our Children

VIDEO; Grace and Mercy for our Children

Children are nearest and dearest to the hearts and minds of their parents. In a series of visions, the Lord has revealed to us what we can expect when we pray for our children, especially as we place them before the Throne of Grace. This revelation can be applied to others outside our family as well. It was the prayers and determination of one mother that helped bring this revelation to light.

At our Tea and Coffee meeting, Jalo asked why things were getting worse for her son, Quin, when he was at the Throne of Grace. I gave this example of a natural application:

Highest Level in the Courts of Heaven

Highest Level in the CoH

My family took a few days off during the celebration of our Independence Day, the 4th of July. Although I was gone from the ministry, God brought a major revelation about operating in the Courts of Heaven. Here is how the Lord made this revelation perfectly clear to me:

It was late when we arrived at Grandma’s cabin: the family was exhausted. The smell of cat urine came forcibly to my senses in two different spots, one downstairs and one upstairs. The Holy Spirit had used this type of discernment before, so I knew it meant demons were present.

Can Christians Have a Curse?

VIDEO: Can Christians Have a Curse &
How to Take Communion

A curse is a legal right for the enemy to afflict us in some way. The first mention of a curse in the Bible is when God put a curse upon the ground after Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge (Genesis 3:17). God also told Abraham that He would curse those who dishonored him (Genesis 12:3).

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse— The blessing if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day… (Deuteronomy 11:26-27 AMPC)

When our actions are against God’s ways, we can come under a curse. Because we have gone against what God tells us to do, we have given the enemy a legal right in our lives. The following verses in Deuteronomy give specific actions that will open the door for the enemy, and anytime we walk away from God’s way, it may give the enemy a place to attack us.

To understand how curses can affect a Christian even after you have taken Jesus as Lord, you will need to know a simple, basic biblical principle. Everything God created in the first chapter of the Bible, He did by speaking words.

Preparing for Intercession

VIDEO: Preparing for Intercession

When intercession is done for family members or friends, you will need to prepare for what is to come. Unlike interceding for strangers, when family or friends are involved we remain part of the process that is initiated with our prayer. Even if we are not leading the prayer, there will be an important part for us to play in order to receive fruit (good results) from a prayer of intercession.

On occasion, Agape Christian Fellowship has seen the hearts of kids instantly open up after their parents remove the charges from the enemy giving generational curses a place. Unfortunately, this is rare. People have free will so their hearts must be ready to turn to God. More often than not, change takes time: it is a journey, not a magic pill.

If God has placed others on your heart, you need to be prepared to be used by God.

Holy Imagination & the Secret Place

VIDEO: Holy Imagination & the Secret Place

During our Tea & Coffee meeting, the topic came up: Should we be using our imagination, envisioning the Secret Place, Throne Room, Jesus, or Heaven to visit with the Lord by picturing the Secret Place, Throne Room, Jesus, or Heaven?

We had invited the Holy Spirit to lead the meeting, and I was shocked by what He revealed.

Teachings about using our “holy imagination” to enter Heaven are becoming prevalent in the Church. What is “holy imagination?” The word “holy” means separate, set apart, sanctified. Can our imagination be holy?

Resting in God to Enter the Secret Place

VIDEO: Resting in God

Rest seems to be an important topic in the New Testament: it is mentioned more than 75 times. I have found resting in God to be one of the most challenging parts of my Christian walk, but is crucial if we are to visit the Lord face to face in the Secret Place. I’m probably not alone in these difficulties because they are mentioned in the Bible:
“Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest...” (Hebrews 4:11 AKJV)
“Resting in God” sounds like it should be easy to do. Just sit back and relax. Yet here in Hebrews, it seems that it may be a challenge to do. Laboring to enter rest sounds like an oxymoron: the two things seem to contradict each other. This struggle begs us to ask:
  • What is resting in God?
  • What are the benefits of resting?
  • What can keep us from resting?

Higher Levels in the Courts

The Throne of Grace is a wonderful place to be. The attacks of the enemy are eased so that we can grow and learn from God. As you begin to grow in the knowledge of the Courts you may begin to wonder:
  • Are there levels to the Courts of Heaven?
  • What do we need to do to operate in the Courts with more authority?

Receiving MORE from the Courts

Receiving More Video

Each new revelation from God seems to be so effective as it begins, then it begins to degrade over time. Why is this? God is always the same, so why do things change?

We must find the answers to these questions now because the revelation of the Courts of Heaven is in danger of becoming ineffective; an "old wineskin." To understand why, we need to know what the Bible says about old wineskin. If you have not been immersed in the Christian culture, this term may be unfamiliar to you. What does it mean to be an “old wineskin?” Three out of the four accounts in the Bible record our Lord talking about this, so it must be important:

Trouble Receiving Grace & Mercy

Trouble with Grace & Mercy

After the Lord revealed how to appropriate the fullness of grace and mercy that His sacrifice provided, we saw immediate results as people began to be set free of everything from mental, emotional and physical healing, to demonic oppression they didn’t know was there until it was lifted. We also received messages from people who were still under a heavy attack from the enemy.
We sought the Lord as to why this was happening. Wasn’t His grace for everyone? The most common reasons were:
  • Eligibility for the Throne of Grace
  • Not confessing sin
  • Not renouncing binding agreements with the enemy
  • Not learning God’s ways
  • Not understanding grace and mercy

Interceding for Others

VIDEO: Interceding for Others

Our Lord has revealed how to appropriate the fullness of His grace and mercy for ourselves by residing at the Throne of Grace. Can we intercede for the ones we love so that they are free from the attacks of the enemy? Let’s look at what the Bible tells us.

According to chapter 9 in the Book of Daniel, as we have discussed, he intercedes for his people and his nation. He did so with a grieved and sorrowful heart, confessing that God had rightfully punished his people and his nation.  In a broad, general way, he acknowledged the following:

  • The sins being committed
  • The ancestors’ sins
  • The lack of repentance for the sins
  • The lack of knowing God’s ways

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. (James 5:16 ESV)

These are the necessary ingredients when interceding for someone for grace and mercy from God. We don’t need to confess each specific sin, for God knows them. When we pray for others, our prayer should have all of the above ingredients. This is the same way we place others before the Throne of Grace as we discussed in the first Class/Chapter in the first Courts of Heaven Academy workbook: Foundations in the Courts of Heaven.

Daniel didn’t go into the Courts of Heaven to pray. However, he did study and acknowledged that the time for grace and mercy had come according to prophecy, which is what you are doing by going through the classes at the free online school; Courts of Heaven Academy.

Intercession and Prayer

Prayer is presenting a situation to God and talking to Him about it; however, intercession is going much deeper into prayer. It is acting as a mediator for someone and crying out for mercy. God responds to intercessory prayer because He feels your heart. We can pray for anyone the Lord places on our heart, but this is different from intercession. In either of these, the Lord will intercede for us in the Courts, and on occasion, call us to be present.

But thus said the LORD…  for I will contend with him that contends with you, and I will save your children. (Isaiah 49:25 AKJV)

The word translated as “contend” is from the Greek word, riyb, which can mean “to conduct a case or suit (legal), sue.” The Lord is our Heavenly Advocate. If we will put Him in charge, He will not only take care of us but also our children in the Courts.

When we are on an airplane, we are told to first place the oxygen mask over ourselves before we take care of our children. When we ask the Lord to help us, our children will benefit from it as well.

Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me! (Psalm 35:1 AMPC)

This verse was directed toward all of God’s people. This means if the person is a Christian, a member of God’s family, we can ask the Lord to contend for us. We have so much more than Daniel had for his people. We have the sacrifice of our Lord and His righteousness. Make sure you use the scriptures to support your claim! Here is an additional verse when praying for others:

And I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD... (Jeremiah 24:7 AKJV)

You may choose to quote this verse in prayer as you ask God to give them a heart to hear Him and know His ways. This is one of the three items you can always ask God for:

  1. Wisdom - God gives it freely and never criticizes us for asking (James 1:5)
  2. Grace - by definition grace is receiving something you do not deserve.
  3. Mercy - the blood of Jesus cries out for mercy and He asked for mercy when those who had put Him on the cross spit at Him and mocked Him. (Hebrews 12:24, Luke 23:34)

We cannot turn this into formula prayer, so let the Holy Spirit guide you as to what to say concerning these items. You should be aware that when you pray, it doesn’t mean everything in their life gets better. It means that which would keep them from God is removed.

  • We hope our loved ones will feel God tugging on their heart and turn towards Him.
  • We ask God to strengthen us to stand in faith if He has to bring them to their knees and prepare our hearts to know what to say and do.

Can We Pray for Non-believers?

Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before Me. (Jonah 1:1-2 AKJV)

The people of Nineveh were not Jews. Even though they were not God’s people, He called His prophet to speak to the Ninevites so they could be saved. We can ask God to speak to those who do not yet know Him, but our access to the Throne comes when we take Jesus as our Lord so we cannot place them at the Throne of Grace.

The bottom line is this; follow the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit. If your heart is grieved for a person, as you pray for grace and mercy, you are going in the right direction. Don’t seek out someone else to pray for a person when the Holy Spirit has touched your heart: God is placing His desires in your heart. Simply ask Him to send someone to speak to them as He sent Jonah, so that they may turn from their sin and be saved.

More Effective Prayers

The results depend upon our heart. Is your heart grieved for the person you are praying for? If not, consider these verses:

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you… (Ezekiel 36:26 AKJV)

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10 AKJV)

Ask God to change your heart to align with Him if your heart is not moved with compassion and grief for others. You can use these scriptures in your daily prayers.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people (1 Timothy 2:1 ESV)

Removing Hindrances

There are two main things that may interfere with our prayers for others:

  • Our own sin.
  • Not honoring a husband and wife.

Our sin won’t send us to Hell. Jesus paid the price for the curse of the law to be removed allowing us to have a relationship with God, our Heavenly Father. By taking Jesus as your Lord, you are coming into the right relationship with God and you should be working to remove sin from your life.

If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14 AKJV)

Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of God, and does His will, him He hears. (John 9:31 AKJV)

God hearing and responding to our prayers is contingent on our seeking Him and turning from our sin. The New Testament confirms this; we must be doing His will, then our prayers will be answered. In addition, husbands must consider the following:

Likewise, you husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. (1 Peter 3:7 AKJV)

This was revolutionary at the time it was written. This statement confirms other scriptures that in spiritual matters there is no male or female, no slave or free nor black or white person. Though women may be physically weaker (weaker vessels), in the spirit we are the same.

The husband is still the leader, both secularly and spiritually. As with all those in leadership positions, there are greater consequences if he is not following God’s ways. A husband's prayers can be hindered if he doesn’t honor his wife as being an equal before God. He must see her calling, gifts, and relationship to God as equally important and relevant as his. This is different from “loving your wife as Christ loved the church.” The church is the bride of Christ so it is about our relationship with each other, not our spiritual relationship to God.

It is easy to take care of this or any other sin. Jesus has revealed how we can appropriate the grace and mercy that He paid for so that we are not hindered. Our own sin can sometimes cause us to respond in ways that may hinder God’s work, especially for those closest to us because we are around them more often. Learning and implementing God’s ways can resolve many of the issues that allow Satan to interfere with our loved ones through us. We have a Counselor and a Guide to help us: on a daily basis, asking the Holy Spirit to tell us what to say and what not to say can be very helpful.

Our prayers should be uplifting at all times, in addition to the confession of sin and our forgiveness of that sin. We should be reaffirming God’s goodness and ability to do what we ask. We should not be stating the following:

  1. The stubbornness of the person we are praying for.
  2. An inability to hear or receive from God.
  3. Any trait that is not according to God’s will for them.

We want to come into agreement with God who can do all things. We don’t want to come into agreement with the enemy to hinder them. In future prayers, thank God as a demonstration of your faith after asking for them to be placed before the Throne of Grace or simply asking for wisdom, grace, and mercy. When I wanted to place someone before the Throne of Grace who had already been prayed for and placed there, the Lord corrected me. We must have faith that God’s mercy is in play, otherwise, we are operating in doubt and unbelief.

Intercession

Intercession is hearing from the Holy Spirit and speaking what you hear from Him. His guidance may come in many forms:

  • A gentle, yet persistent nudge
  • A knowing what to say
  • Visions
  • Words coming to our mind

For true intercession, it must be led by the Holy Spirit. If the person is present, He will show you what to do:

  • Enter into the Courts of Heaven
  • Confess sins (charges) outside of the CoH:
  • He may bring understanding an how to remove sin
  • Dealing with past trauma for a soul healing

Intercession of this type brings the best results! It can only be done with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. The 301 course in the Academy reveals many issues that may open up our ability to hear from the Holy Spirit. We hope you will continue to apply those principles as you walk with the Lord.

Calling as an Intercessor

Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. (Romans 8:26 ESV)

Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:18 ESV)

An intercessor is a mature Christian who understands the Word and is eager to look up scriptures for guidance when the Holy Spirit places someone on their heart. They never pray of their own will. Oftentimes they spend time listening to the Holy Spirit and praying in their Heavenly language before they even realize what God wants them to pray.

  • An Intercessor loves spending time alone in prayer.
  • Three hours of prayer may feel like 20 mins because they are in a submissive position at the feet of Jesus.

You know if you are called as an Intercessor because the Lord very often will put people’s faces right in your mind or bring them into your presence so that you will pray for them. You will not feel peace until you have prayed through what the Holy Spirit is asking of you. It is very similar to when a prophet receives a prophecy and can’t relax until they give the word. Similarly, an intercessor must pray without ceasing until they feel the release from the Holy Spirit that it is finished! They will know when they have completed their mediation in prayer and hit the bull’s eye because they will feel God’s peace in the situation and will wait for it to manifest on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Destroying Curses in the Courts of Heaven

Believers’ Boot Camp, Volume 3

Our rights to appear in the Courts of Heaven have been greatly undervalued. The missing key to our authority is here. Jesus has provided the access and the Bible shows us the court procedures. When we learn to operate in our rightful place as children of the Most High, the enemy will be defeated and we will see the victory we have prayed for.

The death of Jesus freed us from the curse of the law. However, we must declare this freedom just as we must make a declaration for our salvation.

  • Can curses be passed to our children?
  • What are signs of a curse?
  • How do you get rid of one?

Every answer is backed by scripture. Come and find out how easy it is to be free!

Roadmap to Heaven

Believers’ Boot Camp, Volume 4

As I meditated and sought the Lord, a vision overcame me. A “Roadmap to Heaven” was deposited into my soul. We are entering a season of unparalleled access to Heaven. Jesus is calling all who are His to visit with Him in the Secret Place of the Most High.

  • What is the Secret Place?
  • How do we enter?
  • What will we find there?

The Bible holds the answers, the mystery has been revealed. As you use the map given in this book to journey to the Secret Place, discover your destiny and find the gifts the Holy Spirit will bring along the way.
