Our family vacation had been very busy with visiting relatives we hadn’t seen in a few years. This kept me from spending as much time with the Lord as I usually do. Although He had given me the “core” of the message for the following week, I had yet to create it!
The first day back, I sought the Lord as I worshipped Him and a scene opened up before me. This “vision” is what we now know as a visit to the Secret Place, where we can meet with the Lord to receive instructions from Him. The Secret Place is different from my very vivid imagination because of the surprising things that often happen there: they really are not what I am expecting to occur. The following is what happened on the first day of our family vacation:
The Lord grabbed me by the hand and said, “I’ve been waiting for you. I have something to show you!”
He pulled me across the meadow to the place where we had planted three trees on a prior visit to the Secret Place. The Lord showed me what happens when we plant seeds:
- 1st seed: the Lord’s hands shadowed mine, just on the outside of them.
- 2nd seed: His hands covered one half of my hands
- 3rd seed: my hands were completely encased within the hands of the Lord.
The seeds grew as though they were being captured frame by frame using time-lapse photography:
- 1st tree: it was very scraggly, with a few leaves. It grew up to my knees
- 2nd tree: it looked like a bush instead of a tree and it was up to my thigh
- 3rd tree: it was big with broad branches which I could stand under
On this visit, the Lord and I ran to look at all three of the trees, the first two were light tan in color, as though they were dying. Then the Lord brought me directly under the third tree. The lowest branches were over my head by at least 10 feet. When fruits from the tree began falling all around me, the Lord smiled and said, “Now is the time to reap what you have sown.”
Because this was such a good and pleasant message, I immediately suspected that it was coming from my own soul. That same day, while opening emails, I read the following message from a Christian brother who has been called as a prophet:
I pray that the Lord blesses you. I pray that He keeps you covered at all times. I pray that He gives you all that you need. May you be fruitful just like Joseph. He enclosed the Bible verses that were connected to this blessing:
Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a well (spring or fountain), whose branches run over the wall.
Skilled archers have bitterly attacked and sorely worried him; they have shot at him and persecuted him.
But his bow remained strong and steady and rested in the Strength that does not fail him, for the arms of his hands were made strong and active by the hands of the Mighty God of Jacob, by the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
By the God of your father, Who will help you, and by the Almighty, Who will bless you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings lying in the deep beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
The blessings of your father [on you] are greater than the blessings of my forefathers [Abraham and Isaac on me] and are as lasting as the bounties of the eternal hills; they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him who was the consecrated one and the one separated from his brethren and [the one who] is prince among them. (Genesis 49:22-26 AMPC)
This was an excellent confirmation that now is the time to reap what we have sown. That which was not perfectly aligned with God had withered and died. Only the perfect seed will bear fruit that rains down in abundance.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. (Galatians 6:7-8 AKJV)
But this I say, He which sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully. (2 Corinthians 9:6 AKJV)
We will now quickly reap after we have sown, but we must sow exactly as the Lord tells us to. Only that which is perfectly aligned with Him will survive. It took me a few days to realize that this was the rest of the message that I had received before leaving on our family vacation.
The Lord reminded me of a previous dream I had, before I knew that there was a gift of dream interpretation or that I had been given such a gift. The Bible tells us this is a gift:
[One may hear God’s voice] in a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men while slumbering upon the bed… [God’s voice may be heard] If there is for the hearer a messenger or an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him [how to be upright and in right standing with God]. (Job 33:15 & 23 AMPC)
This was the young man who spoke rightly to Job. It shows that our dreams contain information from God, but we must seek to understand them. I was very new at understanding dreams and made the classic mistake when I received this one. Now, the Holy Spirit brought the dream back to me in vivid clarity to show me what I missed the first time around:
I had returned to my church after being away a while. Finding a couple of mature Christians at the bulletin board I asked, “Where is the pastor?”
They responded, “He left. He is in Emmett with his dad, preaching there.”
I was only interested in hearing that particular pastor speak, so I left for Emmett, using a map to guide me there. The pastor’s dad lived on a small farm. When I arrived, I sat on the couch in the living room just in time to hear the pastor’s Dad give a message.
Since I had arrived in Emmet before the pastor, I asked, “When will your son arrive?” He gave me a schedule showing that my pastor would be preaching the following Sunday.
The pastor’s dad was very gracious in giving me a tour of the small house: his bedroom, the small kitchen, and a family room which was as big as the rest of the house combined. “This is where my son will be staying.” Even though the room was large, it seemed too small for an entire family.
I asked the pastor’s dad, “Will there be enough room for Pastor and his whole family?”
He shrugged stating, “Oh there is plenty of room,” He continued, “The strange thing is that when he phoned, he didn’t ask, he just said that he is bringing his entire family.”
In the middle of the night I sat straight up in bed and was wide awake. I knew that this dream was from God and that the pastor’s dad represented God, and that Emmett represented Heaven but I wrongly assumed it was a prophecy about my current pastor. Years later I learned that your current pastor in a dream often represents the Lord. Here is what the Holy Spirit said it meant:
- Pastor: the Lord
- Pastor’s Dad: God
- Pastor’s family: Bride of Christ
- Emmett: all containing, universal strength.
Now I can look at this dream in the appropriate context. I left the church in my late teens. When I came back, I was looking for Jesus: who was He? I wanted to know more about the person I had devoted my life to. This began the journey to my destiny (driving in the car), striving to connect with the Lord.
Emmett is the “Secret Place,” a place that the Lord has created so that we can be with Him. Jesus created a place for us in Heaven so that we can meet with Him:
In My Father’s house, there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you. And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way. (John 14:2-4 AMPC)
God’s “tent” is referred to as the Secret Place. Tent is another word for house. A “dwelling place” was translated as “home” but could also refer to a realm, a segment of Heaven, created just for us. Jesus prepared a place in the spirit where we can visit with Him. Jesus has gone, just as He said, and now He wants to take us to where He is.
[Yes] we have confident and hopeful courage and are pleased rather to be away from home out of the body and be at home with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8 AMPC)
When we are “away from our body,” we are dead. Paul is making it clear that at this time we will be where Jesus is. We don’t need this prayer when we die, but now. The Lord was showing the disciples that they needed not fear the fact that He was leaving. They would still have access to Him.
The attributes of the name Emmett can be found when looking into the Secret Place:
For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock. And now shall my head be lifted up above my enemies round about me… (Psalms 27:5-6 AMPC)
In the Secret Place, we are sheltered in the Lord (all containing). High upon a rock means we are strengthened and given an advantage over the enemy (universal strength). Just like in the dream, the family of God wasn’t there yet. I arrived first and was given a tour by Our Father.
A week is seven days, but often in dreams, prophecies, and scripture, days represent years. Sometime in the next seven years, Jesus would bring the Body of Christ to the Secret Place. It has been four years since this dream and the Lord said now is the time for His family to begin that journey!
Finding the Roadmap to Heaven
I began seeking the Secret Place using a “Roadmap,” which I didn’t realize that I was following, until after my first visit with Jesus. The Lord revealed this Roadmap in a miraculous way.
A friend of mine, let’s call her Karen, was in need of healing. This event happened when I had just heard about the Courts of Heaven and didn’t fully understand how to apply it to healing. I was operating by the “word of faith” doctrine alone. Later I learned that, like Karen, 95% of those who are healed by the faith of another, lose that healing within a year. The revelation of the Courts of Heaven showed me why.
During that time period, a set of dreams confirmed that we were to go to a conference where the gifts of the Holy Spirit (word of knowledge, healing, and prophecy) were in operation. Once interpreted, her dreams indicated a healing awaited her there. The Holy Spirit had placed this desire with great urgency upon my heart.
During that service, a guest speaker, let’s call him Paul, offered a word of wisdom to me. I chose not to blog about it right away for two reasons:
- The manner in which the prophecy was given
- The content of the prophecy
Earlier in the week, when we first arrived at the week-long event, the Holy Spirit whispered to me, “No man will publicly prophesy over you. It is God who anoints and appoints you to your position, not man. No one will pray over you to receive gifts or an anointing.” I had realized that the trip was mostly for Karen’s benefit, so I wasn’t too surprised by this revelation. For this reason, it took me off guard when, the morning speaker prophesied over the mother of the host and the Holy Spirit said to me, “This is for you…”
In response, I thought, “It does sound exactly like what you have been telling me, and it even answers one of the questions I had, but could two people be called to do basically the same thing? Is this really for me, Holy Spirit?” I continued, “I don’t want to hijack someone’s prophecy.”
Paul moved on to the next person and began prophesying to a couple. Suddenly, he asked the couple, “Do you have a hernia issue?” Neither had any such ailment but another gentleman in the room did. Paul explained, “Sometimes God gives me multiple messages. When I am prophesying over a person, sometimes He dumps information in for another…”
I mentally chuckled to my Friend, “Thank you, Holy Spirit for confirming that the prophecy was for me.”
This is how the prophecy unfolded:
Paul began by saying that Mrs. Smith, another conference participant, was worshiping the Lord in her car. He stated that God was “giving her a new sound” (she presumably would write a song to bring about a financial breakthrough for her and her family. Like most of the audience, I had no way of knowing if Mrs. Smith was a musician or what Paul’s words meant to her, but I did know when the Holy Spirit’s prophecy over her ended.
Then the speaker said: “The prayer of God: God bless you and keep you… You will begin to see the prayer of the Lord bring you a breakthrough in this season; declare it over yourself for 21 days. There will be 21 days of breakthrough for you. Even in the secret place there has been a sincere drawing in your heart to the secret place of God. He is going to teach you how to occupy the secret place of His presence. He is going to give you steps to help others enter into the secret place; you are going to be able to identify these steps to the secret place and help a generation enter into the secret place…”
There was more, but the rest of what he said was of a personal nature. During the middle of the prophecy Paul stopped to pray for God’s anointing to come upon Mrs. Smith and then later for a seer and watcher anointing to come upon her. The Holy Spirit revealed to me the exact reason why I was hidden from all the speakers at this meeting: When they see something, they pray for an impartation of that gift for the person they are prophesying over.
To my great embarrassment and in the interest of full disclosure, I didn’t give my full attention to the speaker’s words because most of what the speaker was saying, God had already told me when I spoke with Him during prayer time. I figured God was just confirming what He had previously said to me.

I finally took time to listen to the prophecy again. This time I clearly heard the instructions and began looking into the Aaronic Blessing. In English it seemed simple:
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
(Numbers 6:24-26 KJV)
The meaning behind the Hebrew words is astounding. (We will take a closer look into this prayer in another meeting.) I followed the instructions carefully, saying the prayer each day. I also claimed the promises I had discovered in the meaning of the Hebrew words.

As I crawled into bed and my thoughts centered on Jesus, a soft caressing wave of energy cascaded down over me. In the past I had taken this as a call to practice meditating on the Lord and believed it would eventually lead me to visit Heaven. I have since realized that the Lord will call me when it’s time for my trip and the meditation is quiet time with Him.
I stated, “Lord, I’m really not sure what you want here… but if you are calling me to spend time with You, I’m game for whatever You have in mind.”
Unsure of what or if anything would happen, I relaxed, focusing solely on Jesus. I pushed competing thoughts aside and focused on how much I love Him and how much He loves me.
As the meditation turned to worship, I found myself looking at a distant ridge and a gray and muted cloudy sky. It felt like I was hovering in mid-air, like in a dream where you are no longer conscious of your body.
On the ridge, was a pristine white circle with a shiny, royal blue metallic ring around it. The metal was flat with square ridges. Inexplicably, inside the white circle were four words made of the same metallic blue color, one over another. Although there was no possible way for me to know that there were four words layered one upon another, somehow I just knew it.
“Holy Spirit, what does that say?” I asked.
One at a time, the words began floating up out of the ring as I lay across the ridge. The first word appeared on the far left and the last next to the circle. I read them as they floated back into the ring and piled upon one another in the same order as before. When they were all back in place the ring flew toward my chest. As the circle impacted me, I sat up in bed, repeating the four words. The second time I tried to say the words, but they vanished from my mind.
“Holy Spirit, what was that?” I asked, “Why can’t I remember the words?”
The answer came firm and fast, “This is a gift from the Lord. When it is time, the gift will open and you will once again know the words which describe what you need to do to visit Heaven.”
He also told me that the blue ring was the engagement ring for the Bride of Christ. In dreams and visions blue often represents relationship and communion. This interpretation applies here: He is our betrothed and we are His brides-to-be.
Upon glancing at the clock, I noticed it was after midnight. Several hours had passed, though it felt like I had only been meditating about thirty minutes. I spent some time thanking the Lord for the gift and the experience. It was after three o’clock AM before I could get to sleep.
Indeed, God had given me a great gift. Before the sunrise, the enemy came with retaliation. At seven o’clock AM, my husband called his office letting them know he would be staying home with a cold. When I got up to use the restroom, the room spun around me. The vertigo I experienced was so bad that by eight o’clock in the morning, I was throwing up.
A few summers ago I had my first encounter with vertigo. A room spinning around you is not as much fun as it might seem to some. This time, however, it was much worse. If I moved my head more than an inch, the room spun and my stomach churned. But that wasn’t the worst of it. My whole body felt weak, like I was going to faint. I asked Tony to stay close by me because I was afraid that I might pass out and suffocate while vomiting. I told him if I didn’t get better soon, I should be taken to the hospital Emergency Room.
The dense darkness that lurked around me, threatened to push me into unconsciousness. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced before, except when I once reacted negatively to painkillers and my blood pressure had plummeted such that I had to be hospitalized. This time I hadn’t eaten anything or taken any medication, so this was not normal.
I managed to call my friend Karen who was still learning how to operate in the Courts of Heaven through prayer. “I am under a spiritual attack,” it was hard to form my words as I said, “I need you to pray.”
“Okay,” she said, but only silence greeted me. “Oh, you mean you want me to lead?” she asked. “You usually do that…”
“I can’t…” I mumbled trying not to move my head, “I need you to.”
Karen prayed, going to the Courts of Heaven on my behalf. I thanked her and hung up. Some of the symptoms faded immediately and my husband gave me a Dramamine (medicine for motion sickness), which diminished some of the vertigo symptoms. However, I still felt like my intestines were rebelling against me as if I had a severe case of food poisoning.
Karen’s prayer had pushed the mind-numbing darkness back far enough that I could now form complete thoughts. It came to me that God had moved mightily in the Heavens to give me that gift and the enemy had put charges against me in the Courts. I asked the Holy Spirit to help me find where I had erred.
A memory flashed into my mind two days earlier when I had told my family that we would be having church at home since my sister and her grandkids were visiting. We got so busy that I didn’t do anything more than say my morning prayers.
I prayed, “Lord, forgive me for forsaking the Sabbath, for not putting time aside for You because of time with my family.” I plead the blood of Jesus over this sin.” I continued, entering the courts and asking for any judgments against me to be dismissed. Next, I commanded Satan to take his hands off me and declared that I was healed by the stripes of Jesus.
Instantly all the symptoms vanished. No more nausea, every trace of vertigo was gone, and I was hungry! I asked myself “Who is hungry after they vomit twice in two hours?” Remarkably my stomach had stopped doing somersaults and was now rumbling with hunger although I was still tired from the lack of sleep. My stomach muscles were sore and my throat was raw from acid, but otherwise I felt right as rain.
This is a perfect example of what is mentioned in my free book, “Why Doesn’t God Speak to Me?” and is explained further in “Destroying Curses in the Courts of Heaven.” God moved in my situation and gave me a gift. Satan saw this and looked for a reason to place charges against me in the Courts of Heaven. Because God had moved strongly, Satan was able to attack with equal strength.
This is why God typically doesn’t move more strongly in our lives. We must be prepared for the attack that will come when He does. If we are unprepared when God makes his presence known, we may be devastated if an attack comes from the enemy. This is why God had me write the first three books in the Believers’ Boot Camp series before giving me the keys to the “Roadmap to Heaven.”
I knew that this was for His purpose and would have to wait on His timing for the “Roadmap to Heaven.” The first step to get to the Secret Place and my first road sign came two months later. In the week that followed, a small voice of the Holy Spirit told me I was getting behind and that I needed to begin writing this book. Although I had only received two of the four directions to the Secret Place, I did as I had been told, trusting the other pieces to come. This would be the first time I began writing a book prior to actually knowing everything it would contain.
The Lord is saying that the seeds planted with this book are now coming to full production. It is time to reap the fruit of it. For this reason, we will begin looking into the Roadmap in greater detail in the coming months.

The death of Jesus freed us from the curse of the law. However, we must declare this freedom just as we must make a declaration for our salvation.
