Receiving MORE from the Courts

Receiving More Video

Each new revelation from God seems to be so effective as it begins, then it begins to degrade over time. Why is this? God is always the same, so why do things change?

We must find the answers to these questions now because the revelation of the Courts of Heaven is in danger of becoming ineffective; an "old wineskin." To understand why, we need to know what the Bible says about old wineskin. If you have not been immersed in the Christian culture, this term may be unfamiliar to you. What does it mean to be an “old wineskin?” Three out of the four accounts in the Bible record our Lord talking about this, so it must be important:

And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins. (Matthew 9:17, Mark 2:22, Luke 5:37)
In what context was this said? That is hard to tell because it was mixed in with a lot of other things the Lord said. One thing is consistent, the same thing precedes it in every account: The topic about fasting.
And they said to him, "Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but yours eat and drink?" And he said to them, "Can you make the children of the bridal chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days." (Luke 5:33-35)
Jesus explains why His disciples do not fast, then He talks about wineskins. To place His words about wineskins in the proper context we must know why we fast and pray. In the Old Testament we see that God’s people fasted as they sought revelation:
Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until evening, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD. (Judges 20:26)
When we fast, we set aside the basic physical demands of our body so that we can focus only on God. The disciples did this as well, and for the same purpose:
While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul (Paul) for the work to which I have called them." (Acts 13:2)
And when they had ordained them elders, in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed. (Acts 14:23)
In each of these instances, they were seeking the Lord for guidance or direction: revelations from God. We should apply what the Lord is saying to revelations from God. We need not focus on the wineskin alone, for at the same time, the Lord also gives this examples:
No man puts a piece of new cloth to an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up takes from the garment, and the rent is made worse. (Matthew 9:16)
Fabric that is new will shrink, old fabric has already gone through that process and is now set in a permanent shape, just like a new and old wineskin. We can slip into inflexibility with many things of God:
  • Worship (Two fast songs and a slow one)
  • Prayer (formula prayers)
  • Traditions (the way our church or parents have always done it)
This is not what the Lord wants from us. The pharisees were asking Him about fasting, because it was tradition, not because God had asked them to at that moment. The spiritual leaders of the day had lost all sensitivity to God’s leading and were following tradition blindly. In a broader sense, Jesus is referring to trying to use a new revelation according to the Law of Moses, the old covenant. No longer should things be set in stone.
With these two metaphors, the Lord is in essence saying, "Fasting, is good, but you should be listening to God about when it should be done or you won't be able to receive new revelation."
Christians use the term “new wineskin” to speak of a new revelation from God. We often forget what an “old wineskin” means: that we need to be flexible when receiving these new revelations. We don’t need to follow them blindly, this will make it a tradition, a formula, an old wineskin. It is human nature to want to be in control.  However, to hold new wine, we must remain flexible like new material and like new wineskin, lest the new revelation be torn from us, like new fabric on cloth or new wine bursting from an old wineskin.

Every great revelation from past generations was turned brittle and inflexible, as we developed “formula prayers” based on that new revelation. The definition of formula is a customary or set form or method allowing little room for originality to accomplish a desired result. When we pray, repeating words to get a desired result, that doesn’t leave room for the Holy Spirit to guide us. We are more focused on getting the result we want rather than listening to what God wants us to do.

In the large movements of the past where prayers were developed based on the revelation brought to the Body of Christ, it wasn’t long after, that it began losing effectiveness. The formula prayers are not the issue, it is the fact that they are taking priority over hearing and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You can use a prayer written by another person IF the Holy Spirit says to use that prayer at that time.

The latest revelation about the Courts of Heaven is in danger of moving into “old wineskin” category. Prayers created based on this revelation are being used without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Although our prayer team uses a template for our prayers, we wait and listen to the Holy Spirit and respond to what He says to us. Even with this concession, we had to remain flexible as the Lord revealed how to appropriate the fullness of His grace and mercy in the Courts. (CLICK HERE to find out how to do that)

Others can help us get a breakthrough when we are stuck. However, it is too easy to become dependent on others instead of God. We must be willing to invest the time and energy in prayer and learning God’s ways for ourselves. The Holy Spirit may use many other ways to set us free outside the Courts.

Hearing from our Teacher and Guide, the Holy Spirit isn’t for a privileged few, it is for every Christian. It does no good to have a Teacher if you cannot hear from Him. After someone stands in the gap, praying for you to be placed before the Throne of Grace and Mercy, you will begin to hear more and more from God as you are freed from the attacks of the enemy. It will allow you to spend time learning God’s ways so He can move more in your life.

God created you for a purpose, a destiny with Him that is good. You are not an accident or too messed up for God to use - that is a lie from the enemy. Are your mistakes bigger than God? He used a murderer who was a fugitive (Moses) and the man who was pursuing His children to kill them (Paul). He can use you if you are willing.

I hope you will take time look at the revelation of Grace & Mercy in the Courts so that you can become free from attacks of the enemy while you learn and grow in the ways of God! The Outpouring of the Glory is almost here. It is time to get ready for the biggest move of God seen since the Book of Acts!

The Holy Spirit poured out His thanks at being honored after the meeting where we discussed this. He opened spiritual eyes and brought many gifts to those who were there. Watch this video and receive your gift:

Many people think of boot camp as a place you train for combat. Any veteran will tell you that basic training is about three things:
  • Knowing what weapons are available
  • Learning how to use those weapons
  • Receiving orders and following them
Believer’s Boot Camp series is a collection of books which teach us how to hear more clearly from God with the goal to ready ourselves for a face-to-face meeting with our Lord, Jesus. The series reveals the “weapons and tools” God has given us and how to use them, so we can bring God’s kingdom to Earth. Each book in the series focuses on a single topic to clearly define one tool or weapon from our Heavenly Father.

The series uses the Word of God to reveal all that He has given us through Jesus. The Bible is our instruction manual and the Holy Spirit is our guide to understanding it.

Volume 1: Why Doesn't God Speak to Me?

Eager hearts cry out, hoping for a single word to confirm that He hears us. Yet, many times the only sound is silence. Over the years I have heard several reasons why God speaks to some and not to others. One night, as I tossed and turned, I brought each of these reasons before the Lord, stating why each of them did not line up with who I thought He was.

Words rose from my soul, pleading for Him to reveal why He has remained silent when a single word from Him would mean so much to so many. For the next few hours, God used things I learned about years ago and things I had just discovered to show why He talks to some and why He doesn’t, and in demonstrative ways.

In His grace, He also showed me how people could hear more from Him. Basic instructions on how to hear more from God and how to be led by Him are included in this book. Thank you for taking time to consider the answers I received and share with you now.

Keys to Authority for Every Believer

There is untapped power that is easy for every Christian to access in the form of authority. The keys to this authority will unlock weapons we can use to free ourselves from the attacks of the enemy. We must be intimately aware of the bounds and limitations of our weapon if they are to be used effectively.

Find out about your authority:
  • Why you need it.
  • Where it comes from.
  • What you can do with it.
  • How to get more.

  1. I was reading the Courts of Heaven book last week. God told me to stop reading it. I obeyed even though I was very interested in this gift. Now I know why. I was about to write all of the templates down and memorize them. Principles are better than templates. Now, I will start in a different, more authentic way. No old wineskins!
